Hi all,
I am a massive fan of all things Renaultsport, always have been and i am in a bit of a pickle with where to spend my £6k.
I would ideally love a 182 Trophy and put ITB's on it but insurance on a standard 182 for a 20 year old with 3 years driving and 1 years no claims is close to £5k!!!
I was originally looking at buying an R53 Mini Cooper S, my budget would get me a 54 reg facelift with about 45-50,000 miles on the clock. While looking at a Cooper S at a performance car dealership i spotted what i instantly recognised as a Twingo 133 (i think cup but i honestly don't know for sure) it has 17" anthracite alloys wrapped in 195/40/R17 rubber and has a silver/grey wing with no kit on it like climate controll suggesting it is a cup but the only thing is it has sliding rear seats not a one piece bench.
Anyway it is an 09 plate with 69,221 miles on the clock and after some haggling the man said he would go down to £5,750 so in my budget.
I realise the two cars are very different and the Mini is deffinitely faster, more refined and much more up-market but i prefered the drive in the Twingo. The brakes were in a different leauge, there was far more feel through the seats about what the car was doing and it felt much more playful than the Cooper S (on first impressions of course)
So i am now struggling with what to buy. As Twingo owners what do you all think?
Oh and besides buying a Twingo GT and putting stiff suspension on it, what can i do performance wise with a 133 Cup?
Thanks
