Ok, iv'e never looked into these, i don't even know if im talking about the right thing.
I see people driving with bright white or bright blue lights all the time.
I don't want anything blinding or coloured. Just something more white than standard lights.
What do i need? What are they called? Also, needs to be legal. But yeh, main thing is, nothing stupidly bright, i get so pi**ed off when someone drives by blinding me with ridiculously bright blue headlights (sorry to anyone who has those, no offence, a little OTT  )
Thanks in advance for help and advice!

(to be fitted to 2011 RS Twingo 133 Silverstone)

Search HiD on here and there is already plenty of info,

Basically they will be an MOT fail pretty soon (if not already) you basically want some blue vision headlight bulbs from halfords, more white and legal :)

You can use Phillips Nightbreakers bulbs which are the brightest bulbs you can fit in your car.

If you want the HID/Xenon kits, those are illegal unless your car has build in headlight sprayers.. which the Twingo doesn't have.

They also need auto leveling adjustment.

Although HID's set correctly are less blinding than normal bulbs set too high ;)

i agree with movingshadow,

if u want bright lights then go for the philips becasue they are legal, a striaght swap for the bulbs that are in car already.
HIDs are illegal so stay well clear as u want to be legal

Cheers everyone, will look at getting some better bulbs! Off to eBay i go!

Btw, I hate it myself seeing aftermarket HID's in cars that are not designed for it but.. its less annoying if you have headlights like my car have. Lenses or fisheyes (whatever you call them) so I equipped my car with HID's and I like it

What about osram guys? I always thought osram were great quality. Better than philips?
Also, will i need to buy high and low beam bulbs? Never owned a car long enough to have to change bulbs :p

Since the 2012 MOT rules no HID conversions will pass. Unless its fitted from factory or has all the required elements (ie. projector lamp, washers and self-level) then it WILL fail.

Though if it's a new car then you don't have to worry about that for 3 years... unless an anal cop decides to pull you about them.

Twingo uses H4 bulb which is dipped and full in one bulb.

Grrr that's annoying the standard Twinkle headlights are about as much use as candles in jam jars......

Just get some HID's. 6K are a nice white light.
I see the OP's is a Silverstone so you won't have to worry about an MOT for 3 years. When it does come round to the MOT, just take them out and put them back in after.
They are leaps and bound ahead of pecker bulbs. I'v got mine set at the 2nd click up from bottom and no one ever flashes at me for dazzling them.

Agreed totally and only been flashed once and I swear the guy was a retard

if you fit hids are they easy to remove for your mot?, and will they not bubble the foil in the headlights because they are so powerful compared to normal bulbs ?,

a good reason for not fitting 80/100 uprades like i had fitted to my earlier cars with glass lenses.

They are easy to remove for MOT. Took me about 20 mins to fit and I did a pretty neat job. Would take me about 5 to remove.
Haven't had any trouble with foil bubble. I bought mine from Pritchp who I believe got his from Hatton Performance?
