Hello everyone,

Really like the 133 and looking at one tomorrow. Might sound weird but just wanting to know if you find it attracts the "wrong" sort of attention?

Previously had a Fiesta ST and had loads of trouble! Keyed, bumper stolen, wheel centres nicked. I think it was just a Ford thing hopefully. Never had issues with any other cars.

Just don't want another car where I'm worried about leaving it anywhere.

Cheers all

I haven't heard of anyone having anything stolen from their 133's. Maybe the odd car getting keyed and the dust caps getting stolen but that's done to most cars.

Thanks Dubz, I think the issue with the Fiesta was that there are tens of thousands out there and the parts get stolen from the sports models to be stuck on the base models.

Sure it won't be a problem with the Twingo as they are not out there in the same numbers and not so popular with the Maxpower 'fibreglass and filler' brigade! Will hopefully report back with my Twingo purchase shortly.

Feel your pain dude, does depend alot on location etc, remember my mom had alot of problems with her mini, chrome bits getting knicked etc, twingo shouldnt attract too much of the wrong attention i dont think, its a unique and un-assosiated car.

Well we took the plunge, having looked at a few we actually bought a GT in the end. It is a runaround for the wife mainly and she preffered the slightly more understated look of the GT. Pick it up on Saturday. Seems a fun car and that back seat set up is genius.

Congrats with the new GT!

To answer your question, I think it depends. When I drive my car, I don't really notice people looking at it apart from the occasional other hot hatch driver standing next to me at the red light. However, when my girlfriend drives it, which doesn't happen that much, she always says she's being stared at and people wanting to overtake her all the time or trying to outrun it at a red light.
Personally I think that if you THINK you're being looked at, then you are. If not, you're not :p

Thanks, really looking forward to picking it up, seems like it'll be fun!

As for the attention thing, don't mind it attracting positive attention, the Elise attracts loads of attention but never negative. The ST we had we just seemed to attract complete dicks who either wanted to race or, when we left it somewhere, then damage it.

Will put a pic up of the new addition when it arrives and I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions in the other sub-forums in due course!

really sorry to hear of your experience jkc89 but perhaps answers my question above! Nothing but jealousy and completly boils my piss

Its sad that we live in such a world of jealousy. Cars should be admired not vandalised. On the plus side nothing can take away the enjoyment you get from driving the twingo. I hope all goes well with your twingo mate, great cars that are very under rated.

I think it must be to do with the area you live in really! Haven't had any problems like that with my 133 (touch wood) but I can echo the Corsa LEs trying to race you comments but that's just their owners generally lol.

I seem to get a lot of disapproving looks and sometimes even followed by the police too but never pulled...

You won't have any problems with people nicking the bumper on your Twingo! Anyone who has ever (tried) to remove the bumper will be able to vouch that it's damn near impossible!

Or cutting the CAT out  it's all held on well and the only way stuff comes off is either with lots of manpower and time, or the more typical it just randomly drops off as its French.
