That's the question.. Since half a year I've been putting high octane fuel, Super 98+ instead of the 95 here.

Supposedly higher octane is better for your engine and even though its a little more expensive than 95, you should get more (mileage/kilometers) distance out of it.

What do you do?

i put in 98, i dont know if it makes that much difference but thought i might as well to give the little car a chance to be everything it can :)

when you had your car remapped, did it have 98 octane fuel in it then?

No, and I should have.. probaly could have squeezed out a few more bhp.

Don't remind me, it makes me almost go back to let it re-map again.

What is it £2,50 I litter

I don't. Even when the car is given time to adjust, don't even notice a difference in mpg.

If the car was mapped to take advantage of the higher octane stuff it might be a different matter. I had my Alfa mapped for 97ron and there was a difference, not massive but noticeable, the down side was I once had to fill it with 95ron and it was dog rough

i use v-power diesel and don't really notice anything, i just like treating the car.

filth gear did a test once with diseasels ( it was in citron c5) super diesel and a rolling road, it did make a bit of a difference, 5-6 ponies in this test

Hmm not sure tbh give me this tank an ill tell ya my mpg!!

Feels smoother not necessarily more power

I read all about this before changing to v-power,
Basicly, fuel injected cars check how high the octane is, and it adjusts the amount of fuel that is put into the cylinder as the high octane fuel is more explosive hence more power, meaning it needs less fuel to travel at 30mph for example..
Soo, the fuel is more expensive, but it goes a little further as less fuel is used.. I'm guessing this only counts for casual driving though..
I see it like this, it's hard to explain..

Cheap fuel gets you so far, and is cheap, and it seems like your getting more for your money
Expensive fuel gets the the same distance using less fuel, so your driving the extra money you spend back.. Plus it's better for your engine

So they are no difference in mileage if you drive sensibly
But one is better for your engine

^^^ sounds true!

Although driving like a tool, means first bar dropped at 16miles :(

mine always drops at 17 the first bar. then the others are ever 35/40 or so.
