No but seen Monster Detail stocks it so may have to get it, is it just a sealent or wax?

It's a paste sealant but Dodo Juice are now saying something about still classing it as a wax (not officially).

I'd say that it goes on/comes off like a soft wax but is significantly more durable than a hard wax, meaning it is the perfect combination of the two :)

See my comparison hollie, it's lovely stuff.

I should have used it for the wheels now I think about it but I stuck with my favourite jetseal

Sorry for the hijack, but what's the difference between a sealant and a wax then? And is preparation the same? Wash polish etc? Everyone's going on about this hybrid stuff and I want some but havnt got a clue what it is! Also, should I be polishing the wheels and waxing them too? Help?! ...back to hollie :)

A wax is mostly natural materials. Supernatural set out to be the highest performing wax it could be whilst using the highest proportion of natural ingredients physically posisble.

A sealant is made of synthetic materials. SO in theory should be able to out perform waxes.

Hybrid is the best of both supposedly.

As for prep. Usually the same, however, something to keep in mind with sealants is they can be fussy what they will go over. For instance, oils will cause issues. Usually sealants need an oil free base, so acrylic based paint cleaners or an IPA wipe down are essential. As for waxes, they're not fussy and will go over anything :)

Anything else?

Oh and as for wheels sorry, yeah they're just paint like the body at the end of the day. Waxing them means you'll only need a shampoo to maintain them rather than a wheel cleaner. Not necessarily keeping them cleaner for longer (although I find with jetseal they look fresh for ages, and it just adds something to the finish)

I've tried hundreds of wheel products, nanolex impressed me hugely with it's water properties, but it's difficult to use. Migliore is nice as well but jetseal is just so easy to keeptopping up

Wow.. All looks like pricey stuff! But worth it though. :D

Yea u would be suprised, its probably about £150 spent on all this but thats at discounted prices and good searching around, but I think if I had purchased it all at the normal RRP id be looking at over £250!
Just love using all this stuff :D

I have never used a sealent product before like this, stupid question but Im taking it that it just replaces any wax so its kind of like a 2 in 1 thing?
Also what Dodo Juice shampoo would be best so it clears the oil?

Wait till I get in from the pub and ill write in more detail about it :) but basically none of them. Clay, followed by an ipa wipe down is best. Or an.acrylic based paint cleaner

You'd generally use sealant or wax but some people like to layer wax on top of sealant. It's personal preference really, as long as the wax/sealant has fully cured before further layers are added.

I'd say Born To Be Mild is much better for use before applying sealant/wax but this won't remove the old wax. If you want to do this, you should use clay and/or IPA, there are probably some other options too but that's what I'd use :)

Thank u Matt, I used a clay bar on my old car with the Dodo Juice born slippy however i noticed on metallic black it marred the paint slightly, and i needed to give it a good polish after, however this is before I started doing detailing as a job so not sure if i was doing something wrong, is it normal to get a few scratches and hazy marks after using clay?
Its never happened on other cars Ive done so im thinking the C1 had soft paint

Doing detailing as a job?

I'm not sure about the C1 in-particular but Citroen Paint is generally medium-hard. Then again, these days paint hardness can vary massively and the traditional 'manufacturer paint hardness rules' don't always apply, especially to budget, mass produced cars that probably weren't made by the manufacturer that has its badge on the front.

But yes, the marring could have been down to soft paint and/or a clay that was too aggressive for that paint. Also, black paint is always a nightmare to be honest, it really highlights the tiniest of defects/imperfections that you wouldn't notice on any other colour. I use and stock Dodo Juice Supernatural clay and I've never had issues with it marring any paint, it's fine-medium grade, which is quite a good balance really.
