Hi guys,

Been lurking for a while as I'm currently on the lookout for a 133 of my own - I'm down-sizing (but hopefully not down-funning!) from my current motor (Abarth-Punto Evo) which if i sell it off I reckon I can get a 133 and have enough change left over to pay off some credit card bills and still have tons of fun!

Only test-drove one 133 so far, at Available Car in Sutton-In-Ashfield and tbh the car was a bit of a dog - scratched alloys that the prev owner had resprayed with matt silver paint (and the rear spoiler) and he'd made a right dog's ear of it - blebs/runs of paint down the alloys and he's also painted the nuts and renault badge on the wheels with black gloss - looked a right mess! He hadn't even had the scratches/scrapes smoothed out, just painted over the damage.

Car seemed to drive alright mind, though I didn't get much chance to give it some beans, it did seem to handle very well which is just what i'm after a nippy little car that handles well. I also used to own an Abarth 500 so you can see by my car history I like nippy little go kart/terrier types! (though I had an R-X8 a while back, not exactly a terrier but handled like it was on rails, great cars - shame about the engine probs and thirst!) TBH I struggled to get to grips with the 133 initially as my current car has a turbo and is a multi-air engine which is quite torqeuy so not as revvy as you'd imagine, I need to get used to red-lining again! :) (R-X8 used to beep you when you got to the limit and the green light seems like a similarly awesome set-up!)

Anyways I'm rambling - I have my eye on a few at the mo, shame is that they are all a fair trek so test-driving inspection is a pain! I've been spealing to a Renault dealer in Manchester about a blue 09 plate 133 and they've sent me a video after I asked about the alloys (seems they get kerbed easily!) This one has 3(!) kerbed alloys, but the guy says they will have them sorted (which begs the Q why they haven't already!)

I pay the finance on my Abarth-(APE) tomorrow so will stick it up for sale after the weeknd (needs a clean!) so hopefully sooner rather than later I'll be 133'ing it up!

I'm after a full-fat model or a Gordini 133 - not too fussed on the Cup as I need the sliding rear seats as I have two kids so having the option of boot space or kids space seems really good (a reason I got rid of the A500 - no room!)

If anyone knows of any good 133s for sale - Less than 20k on the clock pref and full service history, good nick in and out feel free to post a link! :)

Welcome, unfortunately you have just missed out on a few that were up for sale. There are a few out there so be picky. Cup chassis ftw!, lower suspension, 17" wheels, air con etc and keeps the independent sliding rear seats, I can fit my 3yr old & 5 month old in + pram without a problem.

Welcome to the forum.

I know its a long shot but maggi on here is toying with selling up maybe worth a PM

Isn't his a proper cup?

Welcome.

Full fat 133 with the added cup chassis for the win. Like Weebob says, you get the extra driving fun, the 17" wheels, but keep the sliding rear seats etc. (It's what I've got :) )

If you're in the region of Sutton, I presume you've been looking at the local renault dealers. (Unfortunately a large amount of them are co-op who I no longer trust as far as you could throw them)

Is it the red one at available car you drove? Saw that on the website and wasn't a fan of the painted centre caps and wheel nuts.

Cheers for the warm wlecome guys :)

I'm getting rid of the Abarth as I can get £12 - £12.5k private sale for it - Looking at spending £8k on a 2 year old up to 20k miles 133 and I have a few quid left over to pay of credit cards and leave me better off each month (have 2 kids now and it's beginning to pinch a bit). I can't fault the APE at all, it's a lovely car, handles well and pretty quick (even quicker with the TMC box fitted ;-) )

But I've always liked the 133 and I figure I can have just as much if not more fun for a lot less. Not as many toys etc and I'm not a big fan of the 133 interior - but it's all about the driving!

@Dr Drew - yuppers it's the red one - it's only 10 mins from work so I figured it would be good to test-drive even if I don't like the idea of buying from a car supermarket.

Ones i have my eye on now are all from Renault dealers - though none round here - 50miles-ish seems to be the norm for the closest ones.

You would easily find one at that mileage and age for a lot less in perfect condition!

I have my eye on one at Renault Manchester (Blue) and one at Renault (Henleys) Crewe (white) at the mo.

First one is £7.5k second is £8k - don;t wanna spend more than 8 really and pref £7k-£7,5k

Yeah, I've had my eye on that one - Due to unforseen circumstance though i've had to lower my budget - now only have £5.5k available as I need to put some to one side.

So now looking at an older model/higher mileage so on the look out!

Also considering a Panda 100hp - plenty of less than 20k miles available for about £5.5k and less insurance (about £100 less per year) - not as fast as the 133 but still have that go-kart feel about them and and 5 doors helps!

Would still prefer the 133 - but the Pandas are a wee bit cheaper.

No 133s around in my budget at the mo (checked ebay, autotrader, exchange & mar various others) so might be a waiting game.....
