Hi,

wondering if someone can point me in the right direction ..

I'm looking to remove the 'circle' surrounds (sorry can't think of a name for them) around the rev counter and speedo. Also want to remove the surround at the gear stick i.e. the part that holds the sleeve in place but don't want to break any of the clips, so how do I go about removing these bits?
Any help would be much appreciated! :)

Thanks!
Kelly

Not sure about the rev counter surround, but the gear gaiter surround just pops off if you get your nails underneath it.

speedo surround: comes of by gently pulling it with the fingernails while pushing the four clips with a small screwdriver

rev counter surround: tried to pull it off like the speedo surround but it was not working. So I decided to take the rev counter apart, before I break it. simply remove back cover, remove screw, unclip the wires and take it off the steering rack. then you can unscrew the backplate of the speedo and all comes apart nicely.

gaitor surround: pull off

I know this is old, but for reference never use a screwdriver or anything. To remove trim of any kind, use special trim remover tools. They are plastic and come in a set, non brand preference as they are all the same shape and same materials. Pick them up from ebay for a tenner give or take a few quid, don't risk a scratch or breaking a clip over a tenner lol
