I went into a garage today and asked them to check if my wheels needed tracking or alignment. I was told it was slightly out so I told them to go ahead with it. £30.00 later I asked whether they have a printout of before and after (as some do). I did have a bit of a chat with them but made me wonder how can you know for sure if you have slight adjustments that they have actually done something if they don't give you printouts?

Unless you turn up at the place with a precise knowledge of your tracking/ alignment, then i guess its just based on trust or the driving experience of your car?

afterall, as the owner, you know best :)

To be honest it's one of those jobs that you'll never know realistically whether it's done or not.

That said, that's what they're paid to do and it would probably not be worth their while not doing it. It's not exactly a lengthy job.

Trust. Do you trust where you went. Place I use let's me get under the car eith them, they love the car and we discuss all sorts car related and that's how I'm sure!

Took my car in for service (take two) and when I got it back I noticed nearly instantly that my tracking had been done, just by feel, and noticing it didnt need to be turned slightly right to go straight anymore....
