It's just taken me 3 1/2 hours to:

Wash - Autoglym Bodywork Conditioner
Chammy - Not really a chamois, some microfiber cloth things my dad had =P
Polish - Autoglym Super Resin Polish
Clean Windows - Autoglym Glass Polish + RainX
Clean + Hoover Interior - Lemon scented Interior foam stuff =P

First time I've polished ANY of my cars, let alone this one but shall now be a monthly occurrence.

Wax it and it doesn't have to be monthly...

hour and a half every week for me.

Every few of months, or when it's needed it's stripped back and clayed ready for whatever needs doing. That's usually a day thing

Granted, I do need to invest in some wax, right now all I have is Turtle Zipwax.
Just a wash on, rinse off jobby.
It's not too bad really, I don't use it much though...doesn't bead like SRP =P

Depends what job im doing shortest its about 3 hours longest ive done is 8 hours

I'd say a wash, dry, polish and interior would be about 3 hours at a steady pace.

As said though, you don't really need to polish monthly. Give it a polish and then wax it. If you buy a good wax it'll not need re-waxing even monthly.

Also, invest in a drying towel rather than a 'microfibre cloth thing' haha

if its just a wash and a hoover then its about 1.5 hours but the 1st proper detail i did to my car took pretty much all day

In all honesty, the cloth's pretty versatile but I shall invest in a drying mitt/towel...and a wash mit...and HD Wax...and applicators...

My detailing list is gonna grow arms and legs =P

Right yesterdays wash, decided to actually time myself:

Prewash - orange prewash left to dwell for 3 mins whilst I got the buckets and pressure washer out.
Pressure washed off thoroughly
Foamed using actimousse left for 5 mins whilst I attacked the wheels with sour power and an assortment of brushes (wheel woolies and a lambswool mitt for this) and whilst I was at it I took a long reach brush to the arches and under the car and used an envy brush under the sills with some g101  exhaust washed with sour power and a scotchbrite pad
Pressure washed off.
Foamed once more as I made enough for 2 cars but the second car drove off
buckets filled with z7 and washed using a car pro mitt and 2 bucket method with a lambswool square pad for the lowers. lambs finger mitt used for door shuts
Pressure washed off, then open hosed to sheet water. Dried down using a new towel, pat dried
Chemical guys blower out for all gaps and engine bay given a wipe down and dried same way
(whilst I was at it all pressures and fluids checked)
2 layers of z2 zfx'd laid down whilst I hoovered the inside out and glass cleaned with dodo glass cleaner and a mint merkin
Interior dusted with a pink dodo thingymibobby
tyres dressed with z16 and exhaust given a further coat of protection with fk1000p

Time taken 2 hours :)

Think that's a thorough wash for a weekly, most weeks don't involve half these steps
