Hi,

Used to be on Twingo O.C but that seems to have gone pop so thought I’d ask the question on here! Basically I have snapped a suspension spring & need to get it replaced, so I’ve decided as the warranty is no more & it’s not going to smash the insurance to get it lowered.

Now, I have read mixed reviews on both Eibach & Spax, but I’m torn between which to go for. I have a G.T with standard G.T wheels & I think that the Spax option will make it look nicer, but I know the Eibach quality is better.

Spax = £120 – 30mm front & 40mm rear.
Eibach = £140 (Discount from CLB Care care) – 20mm front & 20mm rear.

What do people recommend?

Cheers 

I had 30/40 on my old GT on standard wheels and it was perfect to me, the ride is no different to my RS now and it made it feel so much better, especially at speed on the motorway.

I also stuck some 25mm spacers on and it almost sat flush with the arches ;)

I'm guessing toc shut down as there wasn't enough active members on it.

The Twingo really needs a 30-40mm drop for it to look good. A few members on here have spax/apex lowering spring and are very happy with them and their dampers are still working.

I don't know anyone that's gone for the eibach springs.

Thanks guys, that's helpful - my gut feeling was to go with the spax but thought id ask in case anyone had any bad experiences with them!

I'l put some before / after pix up over the next month then & also update my profile a bit more!

Just got my springs delivered #wetknickerswithexitement - gonna whizz them up to my mate's garage over the next week or so & get them fitted. I did take a load of photo's on my phone but it's not uploading for sum reason - will try again later :)

Thursday she get' s dropped - will get some before/after pix up over wknd if I can.

I found a "how to" guide on here which was really handy for doing the lowering - especially with the print as ive heard you need to take the wiper blades etc off! Can anyone find a link to it? i've hunted today but no luck do far!

Cheers.

Woop! Shes baaaaaack and lookin guuuuud! Tried uploading pix from phone but files are to big. Will do it tomorrow.
