Unfortunately he didn't do too well the other day :(

wrapped twingo, wrapped around a tree. broken twingo ... one three three.

that looks pretty painful, i've seen a good few of chris's youtube videos he always drives on the edge. he's awesome like stone cold steve austin.

Obviously Waitey didnt watch the link, or notice the "past the limit" comment.

He was going really well.
Fastest of the juniors and 8th from the overall classification.

He did get the Colin McRay trophy for his efforts :)

He was in hospital in a neck brace from that accident. Hope he gets better soon and gets racing again.
Went out in his car at fcs last year. He couldn't go full whack on the straights to save the engine but it was still insane.

Great video, shows how capable our little motors can be!

What's with the banner on the screen when he's interviewed saying "Peugeot 208 R2"

They are capable wee cars just the rear does not have the travel it needs on bumpy tarmac and you can see that on the video! I know mine gets twitchy on the Dale roads and is good fun to a point where as the pumas we run you can push past that point without fearing for your life lol.
In years to come I think the Twingo could be made into a good clubmans 1600 rally car as the R1 and R2 car could be made lighter due to them being ballastd quite high compared to a clubman 1600 .

i always thought with the R2 that they would have provided a full new rear suspension set up with independant rear suspension to do away with the dead axle at the rear. it's certainly something that could be done if someone was determined enough but i suppose it wouldn't follow the homologation rules etc??

this would certainly make the little twingo into a completely different monster

It would be! Think it's more to do with the amount off actual travel rather than it being independent.
It would be good to see Chris in something that he could push hard in as he has the talent .

Watching the coverage over the weekend on Eurosport, there was one bump which had the back of chris's car bounced up in the air, whilst others kept much flatter...
Wether that was chris carrying more speed, finding a less forgiving line with a hump or, the suspension setup :?

The beam it a fairly good setup as its relatively light which can keep the unsprung weight down. Also, theres very little change in roll center Vs ride height, so travel shouldn't be a problem given sufficient damper travel.
The main flaw being camber/toe being difficult to work with as ride heights change.

I know they have had to do lots off work to the rear off the car to get it to work better. Being Irish tarmac you would almost be running a Forrest set up so should be fairly soft.
My Twingo (standard cup) is no where near as quick on bumpy tarmac as the puma's we have and alot easyer to push on the limits than the Twingo. The Twingo will murder them on smother tarmac. As Jon (Chris's father) says that r2 is a beast and difficult to drive and he should know with his experience in the sport. Short wheel bases never have been good on bumpy stuff.
Would love to build a Twingo once the puma is complete and used for a few years.
