Today i kinda had a moment where the Twingo was looking to be traded in and a Clio 200 was going to be considered or even bought!

Well i sat down with the sales man and worked out the car would cost me ruffly another £60 a month extra. For the extra power i was thinging sweet not bad. Then i got down to the nitty gritty and started working out the tax cost, fuel running cost and Insurance (Only ruff ideas not real prices) And started to think to myself do i really want to be doing this?

All the extra cost on a car i might not find as fun and also wont use all so much!

Then the last bit that put me off the money i owe still on the 133 is 8300 and when the sales man said i would get at max 7500 for my loved 133. A car i love and have looked after so well to be told they will give me 7500 max! The car is more then likely really only worth that much money but to me its worth a lot more.

So the moral to the story if there is somethink you really like that you own. dont look at up grading it just for more power!!!!

indeed couldnt agree more you would be silly to do that ! (slapsys) ! :p

Totally behind you there fella.

An if your after more BHP supercharger is the way to go!! Then no 200 will catch you in a straight line!

 Robs replies haha!
It's funny coz the two new cars I've traded in early I owed money on, but the sales garage cleared everything up! - yes I came out with nothing apart from another new car, but I suppose it's just the way different garages work!
Well done for not getting one Karl, what would 133.net be with out the twingogeekeo?

Oh i would leave here

I would have always been around just without a 133  But im keeping it dont think ill ever part with it.

I was going down the similar route to you but not when I asked Renault Croydon how much my car would be worth now and whilst still in exactly the same condition from when I brought it off them. Payed 10k a year ago and now they tell me it's worth £6600 :( stuff that

Get yourselves down to Dinnages Haywards Heath Renault and they will sort you out ;) Just tell them Courtney sent you and they will know :p Think half their client base must have come from my family by now

But seriously. Cars depreciate so fast if you really wanted to sell it for more or less the outstanding finance, sell it private - give it a good old clean and make sure when advertising you make it sound like you have done loads of good improvements... someone will buy it :)

Am a bit late to this thread, but when seriously looking at trading in I've found it very worthwhile to get valuations from several different places. Between the first P/X offer I got at my local Renault garage, and the one I agreed to travel to in the end, I got my P/X offer up by £900.

Must say that first post is an interesting read and highlights the true merits of the Twingo 133 and reiterates part of my reasons for buying.

Let's face it, anyone can get finance on a car and spend a substantial sum of casj on actually buying a car. The difference is that running a car is a totally different thing and the Clio 200 is quite a significant step up in terms of running costs.

To give you an idea a friend of mine bought an Evo VI which cost in the region of £8k, which as we know isn't as much as most on here have paid for their Twingos. He's recently sold the Evo because it was raping his wallet big time. Not pricey to buy on a scale of things but sub 20mpg, insurance group 20 etc all adds up. Yeah 285bhp was nice but being skint wasn't.

I don't think you can beat the smiles per £££ you get from the Twingo 133, I've owned two other RenaultSport models but the Twingo really does give you the best of everything.

I really can't see the logic in it.

It surprises me how many people drive thirsty turbo charged motors day to day. I can only imagine how much a car that makes 25mpg or less costs to run if you're doing say 12,000 miles a year. I'd never want to run my 225 as a daily car in terms of cost that's for sure.
