Personally for MOT reasons I haven't bothered with HIDs as I'm too lazy to take them out once a year, so the Phillips blue are good enough for me
 
HID's. I've tried all sorts of these "Blue Vision", "Night breaker" bulbs over the years and northing comes close to HID's.

Philips-X-treme-Vision-100 have a colour temp of 2500K so will still be yellow tinged, like standard but give a good output.

OSRAM-Cool-Blue-Hyper-5000K have a colour temp of 5000K so much closer to the colour of 6K hid's but probably at the expence of some output when compared to the vision 100

Philips-Blue-Vision Have a colour temp of 4000K and the output is probably similar the the Osrams above.
 
so are you saying the osram cool blue, will be the better lights of the 3 and the bluest? im just looking for a good pair but are blue like xenons haha but will change them over for MOT's to make it legal :)

Going by the stated specs, the cool blues would be closest to the usual 6k hid's, but obviously not as bright as hid

Not being 'e' marked, they are technicaly illegal for road use in the uk and europe. However they aren't hid burners so theres no need for washers and leveling... you would be unlucky for an MOT tester to try and fail them unless the beam was adjusted too high.
 
would be really good if anybody had before and after pictures of some of these lights.
