.......... this isnt everyones taste.

But as a few of you know im a little bike mad!

So last weekend i went out with my brother to get him back in the fit side of life and to burn the pounds off him (Pub stop might not of helped) But hey we did about 8 miles along the river on the mountain bikes. And also stopped in Giant Guildford.

After looking at a bike for my brothers wife i started chatting with the manager who i know fairly well about getting my Revel 2 converted from v brake to disc brakes. But by the time we worked out the prices on the conversion it soon mounted up with intergrated shifter and brakes. So we went down the next route of looking at a new bike.

My brother normally uses my mountain bike when he goes out for a ride with his wife but on th occasion he was on his mates bike. perfect time to talk him into buying my bike so i can get another ;) He agrees a price and long story short.

Im picking this up today!

Looks very smart, I know very little about biking I will be honest but I can understand someone's passion for anything like that.

Enjoy! :)

I got it for £530 and added pedals at £55 but the bike alone RRP £679.

I've bin thinking about getting a bike to go out on after work and at weekends. No way am I going to pay that though. Any cheaper ones that are not halfords five minute wonders?

Looks like a nice bike that with nice geometry. I have a Specialised Rockhopper comp myself, rarely used it so it's just £900 that burnt a hole in my pocket! Should have it for life though.

Before that I had a Giant STP Zero dirt jumper, brilliant bike but I needed a MTB for longer cross country cycles.

Look into the 'Cycle to Work Scheme' ;) Theres details on the Chain Reaction Cycles website, however most bike shops could probably sort it out if you want to go local

If your company are willing, you could get a better bike than you may otherwise afford. Otherwise, theres some good second hand bikes about if your carefull.

My work already have this scheme in place however it's a 7 mile trip of large hills and on a dangerous road. Also after a days work I my place half the time I can't be bothered to put my motorbike gear on let alone pedal home.

You don't need to use it for that purpose chicken.

You'll just get the bike for a far reduced price (I believe you get it net of vat, it's been 2 years since I set it up for a company so can check that tomorrow) and some will even let you pay it back over a period of time and interest free. Regardless of if you actually bike to work or not
