Lately I've looking at second-hand Twingo RS's or a new facelift one.

Not saying I hate my car but when I was driving aloung with yotah and test drove Ghostz Gordini it only encouraged me how cool an NA engine is.

Performance wise, it wont be that big of a leap. My remapped GT engine is about the same speed but the feel is so different.

Although the Wind has a few pro's towards the Twingo, interior is a little better, seats themselfs and seating position.

Feel in the steering wheel is lighter though and the Wind feels more of a sporty cruiser compared to the nimble 'street rally' Twingo.

But, Ghostz admitted.. the Wind is different but it still put a smile on his face as well when he was driving my car.
That is with all the mods I've done. My Sparco filter for example, sounds totally different compared to his CDA.

Maybe after I payed off my car, I could take a Twingo RS and money-wise it could be good because 90% of the mods I've bought can be recycled for the Twingo.. all my leds, HID, my OZ's, Sparco filter, Weitec coilovers (when I get them), RS mats I got from yotah, RS gear knob

I'd only lose the Skytune exhaust and the remap.

But then again, in 2 years there could be a new Twingo RS thats no longer NA..

I must confess, I'm still looking at young second hand Wind's. Mainly because of it's rarity I guess. But it's rarity made it a economical bad decision for me to buy one. they've halved their value in less then 2 years. And with the model being impopular it's likely that production stops sometime soon and unfortunately they will devaluate even more

well, that X amount of years may take a while. :p But i'm sure it will be a collectable or at least a car for enthousiasts in the future.

I just don't get why it doesn't sell! it isn't impracticle with it's 'smart' roof you've still got a reasonable boot. IMHO it isn't ugly. And for a roadster it isn't overpriced.

On one hand, I'm glad it's not selling that good.. makes me feel I drive something unique instead of all the VAG-diesel-whores out there :p

Doubt the name helps it, but it definitely deserves to have sold much better than it has. As you say Peter, a practical, fun, economical, reasonably cheap roadster

RHD production stopped in February. There's about 2000 Winds in the UK. As for the price drop, that's Renaults fault. They wanted to finish with the model in Feb, so sold off their stock cheaply to dealers, who could then pass on the discount, or try to keep it to themselves. A couple of the big groups bought lots, and knocked them out cheap (which is why I have one). The list for the 133 GT line was in the region of £17k, but when you can pick up a 'new' pre-registered car for a bit over £9k then who is going to pay £13k for a year old car?

They will never be on par with the Spider, but they are a useable 'Vert. :)
