after a long winter, which isn't over as it is snowing in Belfast as i type this, my white Gordini wheels are looking a bit rough .Even after cleaning they still look a little yellowish in places. Im looking something new to clean them with or ideas of how to bring them up to scratch again. Would steam washing help etc???

I had same problem with my speedlines on my Clio 197 the only way I seemed to get rid of the yellow ting was to polish them. It did take a long time but after they came out looking new again

Spray them anthracite :)

Something like Iron-X or Woolfs should disolve any iron particles (from the pad and disc) which would be causing stubborn patches of staining

White wheels are a b***h to keep clean!!

Clean them thoroughly, iron-x them, give them a good polish and about 4-5coats of a heavy duty wheel sealant.

Then should be a bit easier to keep clean :)

You can use auto glym super resin polish yeah, but the sealant is the main thing that will stop them from becoming uncleanable lol

Iron x and poorboys wheel sealant ordered so hopefully this will bring them up good as new again cheers for the help

so are you saying the iron x is a bad product to use on my wheels? i dont want them going purple and alot of people on here say its good stuff.

Quite the contrary, its (iron-X and Wolfs Decon) realy rather good at removing (disolving) any embedded iron fillings which come from the pads/disc. Unless you have already used an iron disolving cleaner, you should see streaks of purple forming as the iron particles are turned into an iron based water soluble salt which is purple in colour.

Rinse off afterwards as any undiluted dried patches can be stuborn to remove ;)

I was just wondering is there any chance you would be able to put a licutre up if the while car showing the alloys as I am thinking about spraying mine white also but I would like to see what they look like first :)

iron x and poor boys wheel sealant used on my wheels today and have to say they have come up a treat. Great stuff

As probably said already, if they're looking a bit tarnished then a normal bodywork polish would bring the finished back up fine. They are in theory the same as paint on the car and even powder coated wheels can be polished normally.

Also as Jonny says if you polish the wheels up and then apply a sealant or wax it'll prevent dirt sticking as it would normally.

An ex of mine had white wheels and used her car daily. Found the wheels needed washing every 3 days to stay looking white.

spent all last weekend working on the wheels and they looked brand new again, the iron x is an amazing product and the poor boys wheel sealant is fantastic, means the wheels only need a quick wipe and they are good as new again. just a shame i hit my dini of a curb last tuesday and marked 2 of the wheels fs spare wheel is on and the first wheel is going in tomorrow to be powder coated again
