If I start a new policy with 1 yrs no claims 21-sept

Before my policy is due for 2 years 01-oct

Will I then be behind one year on my no claims?

Don't collect the new one until 1/10? You'll save a month's tax then as well. :)

I dont know if i can wait that long...

Just wondering if i cancel a policy in the cooling off period am i charged both the cancellation fee and the 14 day cooling off fee? or just the cooling off fee.

Admin fee (if any) and any days insurance that have been used.

I cancelled mine earlier this year on the 14th day and just paid for the 14 days insurance, getting a refund for the rest.

Could always try going straight to aviva for 7 days free cover. That's what I did when I got my 133. I presume they still do the same on their website. Not had to look recently

You could try the temp cover places to tide you over the gap

Or if you really want the car sooner - you can always update your current policy for a fee

I spoke to admiral they are able to honor the 2 months no claims 7 days before the end of the policy job done :D
