Who else is underwhelmed by the release?

Will I be going to upgrade? No.

Half decents specs, Siri seems... meh, not another game changer, the fact the apple share dropped 6% on the news says it all (tho did slightly rally at the end of the day)

Alledgedly 70% of 22k people survey very not that impressed, tho bet you 10p that it'll still sell in droves.

Pre-order from the 7th, released 14th Oct.

I am pre-ordering mine as soon as i can.

I am indeed underwhelmed by the release and it was a let down that it is the same on the outside. But the specs on the inside will make it worth while i hope.

I would wait until next year and see what they bring out, but if i keep waiting for a better one then ill be waiting forever! My 3GS is broken now so its about time i got a new one, and wouldn't have anything but an iPhone. Even if i was half convinced to get a HTC a few months ago when i was due to upgrade.

Anyone know of any service plans or estimated costs yet? Handset on its own is meant to be about £500 for 16GB i think... Its about time i upgraded to something with a bit more memory as my 16GB now is full

If you've got a 3GS then it's deffo worth the upgrade just not from a 4, prices START from £499 (unlocked)

Indeed yes it is the looks of a 4 but I currenty have a 3GS so I will be moving up the market for it. And also ios5 will be released on all the current phones from apple.

iOS 5 is pretty impressive I can't wait to use it properly without the bugs.

It's pretty much a new phone just in the same case! It's bit annoying that it looks the same I'm due an upgrade so defiantly be upgrading with the speed the camera etc, does anyone no if Siri is going to be part of the ios5 update or just on the 4s?

only half of ios5 will work with 3gs so be warned.
4S is shocking to be honest. rather wait for when samsung and apple get over the quad core product issues of die being to large and yield being poor. then we'll have some cracking phones
not many people realised the 3gs core was just a declocked 4 core with lower cashe memory and 4S is a speed up one. bit like intels i3/i5/i7 cores. same basic design with tweeks
ios 5 is nice though and about time they took a page out of andriod and blackberry phones, now they have the best of both. a extremely easy to use phone with key features that other OSs/handsets had. or as we like to think in work, looking at what people were Jail Breaking the most and adding it in.
pricings a killer, with the current models... lets just say hardly budging as their still extremely expensive size to make. 3gs has only drop £50 on a P&G phone. ouch

Are you sure............... The 4S is using the A5 chipset from the iPad2 which is completely diff from the 3GS.

iOS 5 will be fine for me as I've got the 4.....

Agree ios5 isn't great on a 3GS.

Been in to O2 and they won't be taking Pre orders so will be banging on the door at silly o clock!

the die changes aint that much to say its a completely new cpu deign like core2duo to icore was. improvement but still same size die i believe (but not 100% sure)

i have the pleasure in working o2 hehe thank god no pre-orders. half the people that own the phone cant use them and have IQ of a snail and also stops them for moaning when they realise they'll have to go for an expensive contract and moan. Although Apples dishing out massive bonuses out

iOS 5 is mint. Been playing with it at work today. Proper awesome. U need the 4s to get the most out of it though. The voice control is unreal and the positioning system is next to none. U set reminders for certain locations and when u get there it tells u what to do. Awesome. Need the new processor for it to work properly though

I was expecting a 4s to be honest, same as the 3G. In my opinion, get the 4. Offers are so cheap for contracts at the minute and the phone is free. O2 are offering iPhone 4 on contract 21.50 with free phone

Have you got a dev licence then? I know they've released the Golden Master version.

I had iOS 5 for a while but ended up restoring back to 3.4 after I got annoyed with the bugs. I got it through registering my UDID with a developer. Easy as chips to get hold of, just a pain to install during beta versions.
