Booked myself into a police recruiting seminar for the 29th at the end of the month.

What should I expect when I get there and what kind of clothes should I wear? Just waiting on them to send me a confirmation e-mail.

Thought I may as well do this along side my army application and various other things as it has always interested me.

When have you got it??? Are you joining as a special??

I know I missed an A but its a random forum name!

Sorry yeah I realised that once I put it, :) are you joining the specials or regs??

Aww okay, go smart casual to the evening mate. They always give quite a lot of helpful information. :)

Unfortunately fella the seminars a new concept to me! So not much help!

Although what I would suggest is that you look through the website of the force you are applying or enquiring bout and look at their competencies of what they are looking for. I have never really been to a seminar so not much help.

How was it waitey???

Alright, they just packed us full of information for 2 hours then gave us the monster application pack!

So I have been going through the application and the army finally sent a medical form for my GP to fill out so that got handed it but will take 2 weeks for them to fill it in.

Such long process' now, also police fitness requirements is a joke

I went to a day to inform yourself to become a Fireman.. the physical test are the same or maybe heavier than military.

I think it's unfair that the 5-0 has it so easy on the physical test.

What's required for the fitness?

Get to level 5.4 on the bleep so about 4 minutes slow running and push 35kg and pull 34kg.

As opposed to the army's run 1.5miles is 12.30minutes

You won't get in with 12.30 on the run because that's the time for the femmes! 10.30 for people in the army is pretty ***** to be honest

And as for the 5.4 on a beep test even the women of the Raf have to get 7.2 I think and they are something else I reckon the police should be on par with the army for fitness because I swear that the first 4 stages on the bleep test are a brisk walk at best
