Got a jury summons through the door today to go to Croydon crown court. Probley to do all the riot scum. I done it 6 years ago and loved it I hope it's just as good this time

I didn't get selected for the actual jury but the first part of the introduction, selection and swearing in is certainly interesting.

I got put on a 3 week case last time up at the court at London bridge we found a woman barrister guilty of stellin off lambard direct

how tempting would it be to jump up and shout Objection your honour?

You should be in the witness box that's a different experience and defo dont want to shout anything!

I actually got called for jury duty and when I told them I couldn't attend they told me tough *******, when I provided a note from my employer they still told me I had to. Then I provided the invoice from the college for £1500 for the course I was on and they realised it was best not to reimburse me for it and I didn't attend.

I only live about 15 minutes from Croydon if you fancy a pint at some point haha

I lived in Croydon in the '80s. Stretton Road, Addiscombe.

Worked on the 16th Floor of Lunar House - great view from my office window. Then they moved us into the Whitgift Centre offices. P*ss poor view, but good to wander round the shops at lunchtimes.

Does anyone know if Mamma Angelas (South End?), or the Sheesh Mahal (Lower Addiscombe Road?) are still there?
