After the recent fiasco with the Twingo at Lookers Renault, it has had me doubting it, had a diesel for the last couple of days and it's made me realise how much it is actually costing me a week! (I do around 5-600 miles a week), so for the last couple of days i have been looking at the Seat Leon FR's with the K1 (BTCC) kit on them, love the look of them and the 2.0 6 speed which at standard has around 170 bhp and 370nm/t, makes me smile haha...

Leon FR K1

Just wondering if any of you have had experiences with these in the past, anything that could be a problem?

My mate had a Leon fr diesel had it remapped and dpf valve removed got it up to 230bhp

Yeah seen reports of the remaps pushing 230bhp with around 430-440 nm/lbs torque, would be fun!

I test drove the fr 170, same as K1 just lacking the bodykit just before I drove the dini 133, straight line power is good but you only have power from 2-4k revs really and it does fly on the straights but its crap in corners, hence why I chose the 133.

MPG they are only quoted 47mpg in the book or so but get alot worse so if you're after economy don't bother as for a diesel it's crap, also test drove a scirocco 2tdi 140 quoted mpg was like 53 it was noticeably slower but it was all round a better car.

The interior on the Leon's are absolute ****, it didn't come close to my dini or a scirocco and seeing as you'll be inside it all the time it's best to get something in which the interior is a very nice place to sit!

That's my opinion.

Just looking for something comfy and economic tbh waitey, with a lot of my time spent on the motorway corners aren't the biggest issue ha.

Its the looks that i like more, really like them!

If you get one, get the newer face lifted ones as they are better interiors and don't look like nasty cheap plastic

Octavia vrs! I had a petrol one and has been the best all round car I have had just boring on the roads I like! 170 bhp is spot on and 50 mpg no problem. One of the best longdistance cruisers on the market I think

I had the FR for 18 months, and had nothing but problems with, hence why I went for the Twingo. I dont know if I got the dud version, but I was constantly paying out on it. It was only a 56 plate too. My mate has one and got it remapped and he's getting 215 bhp, and he has had no problems with his!
