Starting to get sick of seeing my car parked at this place now, took it in on Friday to have all of the work done on it to sort out the clicking noise coming from the steering rack whilst turning left...

Got there Friday afternoon at 3 as they had rang me at half 2 telling me to collect it, i was still there at 4:20 as they had took it to the valeting bay to clean it, an hour and 20 minutes of cleaning normally gets me a clean car including the wheels and a quick hoover... They cleaned the body work and left everything else, all the brake dust on the wheels, the windows still dirty and the inside how it was when i dropped it off and after 10 miles of driving i could still hear the noise, went back and had a 15 minute argument with a 'technician' who claimed he had done 30 miles in it and it didn't do it once... Booked it in again for yesterday... Which meant another two days off work

Dropped it off at 10 yesterday hoping that it would be sorted, picked it up today at half 5 because they wanted to wash it for me, when i arrived i found out coincidentally the technicians had gone so i couldn't even speak to one... Again they hadn't cleaned it properly again and another 20 mile trip heading back towards mine resulted in the noise starting again, will be ringing them again in he morning, just wondering with my warranty running out in 2 weeks time should i ring Renault UK as these lot are clearly disabled in one way or another...?

If in doubt, get on the phone to RUK and start a case. My dad used to have an Ibiza Bocanegra and our local Seat dealership significantly improved in customer service once Seat UK were on their back.

I personally would give it a shot if you gripping one of the "technicians" in the first place didn't do anything maybe renaultuk will be able to sort you out I don't see that you have anything to lose and it seems best to act fast before the warranty expires!

Yeah ill get onto them then this morning, no araf its definitely coming from the steering column, only had new tyres fitted 3 weeks ago and it was doing it before then...

Just spoke to Lookers, apparently it's my fault they didn't fix it properly this time as I didn't go out in the car with the technician, even though they have heard it twice already...

It's coming from the steering rack and it seems they are avoiding changing it... Karl can you get a price on one, i just want to know how much they will be wanting to charge me after the warranty expires...

Tried ringing RUK at half 8, got "Our office opening hours are 9am-5pm" Rang 10 minutes ago and got the message "Our office is currently closed till 10am due to training purposes"

They were fine to take my money off of me, but once they have it jesus it's hard to get a word in edge ways especially with a 'Trained Technician' who is the biggest bell end i have ever spoken to...

RUK are usually pretty good at helping out when they're on the case. The couple of times I've dealt with them before, they have been very helpful.

I'm not saying you don't do this already (don't know to be honest, but thought I'd write it as it helps some people who haven't thought about it.) but RUK will try and been your side as much as they can. Saying you're angry at the dealership for these issues is good, being angry at the RUK representative on the phone won't help your case ;)

I won't be angry with them, i want the car sorted, I started off being nice with the guys at Lookers, but when you have someone trying to tell you that because you aren't a 'Trained Techinician' you don't know anything about cars, then things start to change...

Just spoke to one of the customer support managers at RUK and he has just explained everything which they should be doing but aren't at Lookers, he has also made the point that they shouldn't be telling me that i will be having to pay for the work to be done after the warranty expires, as the job is open and has not been completed... I see what you mean about RUK being on our side Drew!

He also told me to make sure i get everything that is known to be a problem checked, so spark plugs with the water problem, passenger side window motor(?), ball joints, etc

Sounds like you had a good response there :) - though not sure I've heard of this passenger side window motor problem before :S

Yeah i thought it was a little weird? mine's a little slower than the drivers side going up and down, but it's never really bothered me until he mentioned it :|

I'm mentioning my left window next time it's in. Unless the windows wet from the rain, it takes about 1/3 longer to close than the right.

RUK have been great with the dealings ive had with them. The dealers themselves is another thing.....

Doesn't make a difference rain or shine it's slower on mine, mate also got an electric shock from the switch yesterday :S

I've tried taking care of the rubber but it's not helped.
Not thought much of it tbh. Wasn't aware it was a common problem

Yeah I've noticed that before now, it doesn't really bother me though, just bit annoying when you wind them up together and then when the driver side is shut you assume the other one is without looking and jump out the car only to realise the other one still has a couple of inches to go
