I don't doubt that...

I'm now just organizing to tint the front windows 50%...it looks so weird with the back windows all dark and the fronts clear...

Must be a South Africa thing because here it's not allowed to tint your front windows.

lol...not the front windscreen hey...I'm talking about the passenger and driver door windows...

it's actually going to be a 50% Smash n Grab... <<<--- That in this country is very much needed...I work with the police here and things are just going down hill sadly... :(

Yeah we're not allowed to tint any of the front windows, side included bud...

What you mean by 'Smash n Grab'?

It's designed for our Smash N Grab criminals, the ones that wait at our traffic lights and then smash the window and run with either a purse or cellphone...

So what this is designed to do, when they smash your window, instead of the window breaking apart and shattering everywhere, when they smash it, the tint film holds the window together not allowing them access....if that makes sense?

Makes perfect sense, a theft prevention effectivly.

What's the insurance like over there?

It all depends on the insurance company you choose, your age, and what vehicle you are buying...

For E.g. I'm paying 40 pounds for insurance on the Gordini...I pay household insurance as well, so household+vehicle = 83 pounds total which isn't bad considering I am 26 years old...

It seems that insurance your side is quite steep?

Mines a bit higher than that!

£950 for the year last renewal, this years should come out around 500ish

@ JE - correct, per month, don't we all just wish insurance was a once off payment :p

@ 133 - Wow...how does the insurance work there? If it's classified as a performance vehicle you pay more, if you're under a certain age you pay more as well?

Here you can pay either monthly or yearly. The yearly option works out cheaper most of the time.

As for how pricing works it comes down to age, driving experience, no claims bonuses, any driving penalties on your licence and also where you live and how the car is kept during day and night. Mileage is another thing, could keep going on and on to be honest there's so many variables

Call me Ad :D Each car has a designated insurance group. The RS is Insurance group 8 out of 20, the groups depend on Speed, cost, safety, cost to repair mainly, so the Quicker and Less Safe you go the higher the group e.g. TVR Chimeara 4.0 Litre V8 is a group 20

I presume you have the RAID auto door locking function in SA and have it switched on.

So I've hit just over 3000km on the clock and I'm really loving this little RS more and more...the speeds you're able to take bends at are insane!!! and the sounds the car makes after 5500rpm.... WOW!!! *Insert cheeky grinning little boys face here* :p

Decided to take some more photos before I hit the bends :)
