A local mobile valeter came round this afternoon to do a mini winter valet on the RS fleet (my dad's Octavia VRS Blackline and my 133).

As far as I could see, he started off by spraying the wheels with what looked like that pink cleaner (it was in a Supaguard bottle anyway), before giving the whole car a going over with a "pre-spray" and then snowfoaming followed by a handwash. He dried them after before polishing the glass inside & out and giving the interiors a good hoover out too. Not bad a job at all

(The Octavia has winter wheels on, by the way... steelies with Goodyear winter tyres all round and some centre caps off a VW Caddy...)

Of course with the Skoda only being a few months old it came up a treat. Very pleased with how mines looks at the moment (until I drive it again, the state of the roads in my area  )

Twingo looks spot on mate!

I know what you mean about the roads they are horrible to drive on just now as soon as you turn a wheel your car gets dirty

Unfortunately that's what comes with this weather. I drive to work and I goes from being immaculate to filthy in 20mins!

Looks great. I can't have anyone else touch my car... Only people I trust! Lol!

To be honest I'm usually the same! Although I'd heard a lot of good things about the guy so thought we'd get him round and he did a superb job, he's an avid detailer himself as far as I'm aware.

And @scott cheers mate... they are a complete nightmare at the mo, it's all the dirt and salt and **** everywhere... I even saw a gritter go up my street this afternoon

They're really low profiled tyres too.. Makes it look like huge arch gap!!

I know, they're the standard 195/40 R17's too, actually looks like there's some slight reverse rake too but I reckon that's down to the rear wheels having the spacers on them... Would like coilovers tbh

Thanks everybody!

looks pretty good :) how much did he charge per car?

He only charged £15 a car, and that was for his most basic sort of "going over" if you like. He did everything, right upto a full detail + paintwork correction at something like £250!

Surely you would need to take car to him for paint correction...

Nah he's completely mobile, appeared in a Vauxhall Combo van with the back packed full, had a generator for his power washer, all the cleaning products, machine polisher... Well kitted for it all like.

And no not at all JMR... Really just wanted it to have a quick going over as it was getting really bad from all the salt and **** on the roads ATM, can't wait personally to get stuck in in the better weather with all the polishes and so on

I do about 50mile/day on country roads and if i wash mine on sunday, by arriving at work on monday morning my car looks like its done the paris-dakar.

I only EVER wash my own car, but for £15 id let a well set up pro like it sounds you had, do mine if only to save me from getting cold lol.

As said, really looking forward to getting the RS fully machined polished in spring.

That's unusual because a full paint correction can take days...
