Right, at the moment i live at home and i have a nice area to live. I pay £200 a month in 'rent' to my parents. It is nice living at home as i have meals cooked/washing done/garage to put my car etc....

The only problem is i want more freedom and my own proper space.

I've seen places to rent in Milton Keynes (where i work) for around the £700 - £1,00 a month to rent. I would walk to work so would save a fortune in petrol ( at the moment costing me over £50 a week nearly).

I just cant decide what the best option for me is... im 19 with a good job.. should i go for it or wait a few more years??

Its completely your choice mate.

If you can afford it and want to do it and dont hold back

As above, if you can afford to go for it. It'll change your life whatever happens and add to the experience of "growing-up". And that's meant in a non-condescending way.

Plus think of all the hook-ups you can drunkly crawl back home at 3:23am with.

read my mind!!!

Save and save some more mate and wait for a mortgage is my advice mate.

I've known plenty of people move out to rent elsewhere because they want their own space, which is totally understandable. Trouble is they've had to move back at a later date because they've needed to save up to buy a place a few years later.

19 is still pretty young so why not enjoy the cheapness of it and save for a place to buy.

I moved out when I was 24 into a place I rented from a family member for only £300 a month. Because it was so cheap, only a bit more than I paid at my parents, I was able to save up, which meant when the place was going up for sale, I was able to get a mortgage. So much better knowing that each month you own more and more of the property rather than line the owners pockets instead.

Sound advice There mate that's what im wanting to do , am saving for a deposit so by the tome I'm 25 I should be able to get a decent house I'm 19

^ Try living where I do, probably the most overly priced part of the UK. Until I get a job that pays £50k a year there's no chance of me affording a house around here.

Average mortgage on a typical 2-bed flat with 10% deposit = £800 a month minimum. Naturally, being a mortgage excluding all bills.

It really is so worth it. It's all about staying out of debts and getting into your own place. No better feeling than your own place and a nice motor outside too. Winning combination.

i know the feeling of wanting your own space but u would b much better off setting yourself a time period of staying at home and saving as much as poss then going for a mortgage.
because renting is a real money burner and makes it even harder to save for a mortgage

I`m still living at home, saving (Trying) for a mortgage. As rent prices where i live are stupid (bloody south of england)

Also in the news the other day apparently landlords are puting rent prices up due to not many people being able to get a mortgage so a higher demand for rented places.

(but i would love to move out)
