I can think of two members who know exactly what this is for and will understand the strange purchase (no, I'm not gay nor a hairdresser...), but I'm sure it won't take much for the others to guess.

It's a 1990 Mk1 Eunos Roadster (Mazda MX5) and over the winter months it will be my new project.

I picked her up last weekend and spent that weekend weeding and moving fence panels to get it out of the way. It's now behind the fence in this photo. Work starts this weekend and over next week as I have it booked off... I'll be posting up a basic progress thread here for any of those interested. I won't list my plans as to be honest... I don't have a definitive list! First step will see the interior out and all rust seeing to.

Garage vary front lip, loow and negative camber... Mmmmmm

I've nearly bought one on a few occasions myself! Soo wanted a spec b

You keeping the same engine or banging in an RX7 block?

Standard engine is fine for forced induction. Rotary lump will cause a lot of headaches and I'm not spending a huge amount of money on this car... will save it for a 200sx.

haha NP, it was a maverick idea, costs too much for 'less' gains than FI.

Good thing with 200's there's loads out there pre-modded so you'll save loads there.

Will you be keeping below a certain BHP?

Nice. I keep being tempted to pick up an mx5. My uncle used to have a mk 1. Was a great little car, so much fun, even as a standard one :D

Mmm drifting mx5 is frickin awesome , not as fun as a ps13 tho =P

Rolled arches and some et0 8j rota grids with 20mm spacer. Yummy.

Oh hell yea!! I'm jealous

Great fun little cars with loads of potential if done properly!!

The only question now is turbo or charger!!

BTW I might b able to help u get some good prices on bits if u need them
;)

Really not sure on that... I was thinking turbo first then super after but I'm tempted to just go for super+megasquirt in the first place. Very interested in the 'bits'... send me some more details :)

Om nom nom :D

Screw the 200ZX, stick the SR20 in this bitch ;)

P.S About time you made a thread
Hmm possibility :p Got a few mates with CA's laying about so that could be another option... But then again the reason they're laying around is because they've ditched them for SR's lol! May as well do it properly I suppose...

Banzai (or JP, not too sure now) a few issues back, there was a ITB kit for the MX. Supposed to be one of the best kits availiable...AND THE NOISE

Only thing I've found with the Mk 1 MXs, sometimes if you go aftermarket for soundsystems, the EM Field from the Alternator (or the Coil pack, not too sure) interferes with the ICE and you get a supercharger esque whine coming through the speakers...more RPM, higher pitch...kinda sounds cool though

Yeah I saw that one, they do some awesome with ITB's but I want FI. I've had alternator whine in my old Clio... was a right pain in the ass.

Drift cars don't have stereos
It was the first thing to come out (preparation for dash removal/trim).

Funnily enough me and the Mrs were contemplating going halves on an MX5 for a bit of fun. Pick them up for a grand or so which for that money, wouldn't car if it rusted away after a few years! haha

Definitely good for sideways fun although they are meant to handle brilliantly so great for a b-road blast! :)
