Thought i would share a few pics of my old Mk1 V6 doing the rounds at Kimbolton Castle,Silverstone and Rockingham 2009/10
Loved every minute of my ownership and still miss the unique experience of driving these cars and i hope the new owner who apparently exported the car to HongKong takes good care of her as i did.
The car was a special one off build for Tom Walkinshaw.Built by his factory TWR and gifted to him for 25 years of motorsport and i purchased the car from Tom himself at TWR.
This car was a total one off hence its high auction selling price and export to its new lucky owner.
Apart from its link with Mr Walkinshaw it was fitted with full leather/alcantara interior as a test run for the MK2 leather option later on.Full FIA spec bucket seats were also fitted and even the vin was created to include Tom's name.
The car was not registered with Renault so had no numbered plaque between the seats but was replaced with Tom Walkinshaws signature in place of the production number engraved into the plaque.

Enjoy !

Lovely V6 there mate I was dreamin about them today on eBay if I didn't have 2 kids id have 1

Looks awesome but didnt the phase 1 V6s have the ability to just try and kill you out of the blue?

Not quite like that. Grip is right up there and you would have to be driving quite hard to get it to spit you off. It's just if it did, then it would kill you :p they toned it down with added understeer for the ph2. Which IMO doesn't have quite the same kudos as it wasn't built by TWR by then :(

This car is amazing and the story behind it is incredible.

Looks like you crept into one of my pictures!

Looks awesome :)

Think I've caught some pics somewhere, possibly WSR. Will have a look when I'm back home

To be honest the myth of poor grip is not true unless you drive like a lunatic or don't respect wet roads etc. However due to the very large turning circle it is true that most people that get out of shape end up in a mess with only the most skilled drivers able to save a spin and mear mortals being left with a huge repair bill for even the smallest damage.
Penn you did indeed snap my car and both me and my better half standing behind it at FCS.
I was also at WRS so DrDrew you may have a pic or two although if I remember a guy was also there selling a Mk1 in Illiad Blue and was unusual to see two of the eight blue MK1's in the same place.

Fairly sure it wasn't at CSS. The only blue v6 I saw was yay!

Penns photo definitely Rockingham FCS 2010 I think.
I remember the gravel hard standing pitch playing havoc with paintwork and constant cleaning to remove the dust !

I've often thought this about the Clio V6. You hear people like Clarkson calling it a 'surrender monkey' and it getting a reputation for being a bit of a bad handler.

Thing is though, RenaultSport know how to make a good chassis. Also bearing in mind the size of the rims and the no doubt well set up chassis I can imagine there is a lot of grip unless you drive like a muppet!

Lovely looking car that though. :)
