Hey I've got the Bose Companion® 3 multimedia speaker system

000000000000040281_pp.jpg

Recently they've been making a sound like when water hits a really hot surface. They only make this sound once every few hours with them on.

I wasn't too sure where to put this thread but this seemed like the best place. Anyone got any idea's on what this is or what to do to fix it?

Have you checked the connections at the rear to make sure that any of the connections aren't calcifying?

All the connections look normal to me. Could there be a chance that it's something to do with my sound card in the computer?

Do you have an X-Fi sound card by any chance?

My old logitech Z5500 did the exact same thing... turns out it was an issue with alot of them and so logitech replaced them. May be worth speaking to bose about it.

My sound card just says 'Realtek High Definition Audio'

You don't have a soundcard then, just on board audio on your motherboard.

You could try updating the audio drivers.

There update as I've got a handy little program that updates my drivers for me.

I'll email bose about it and see what they come up with

You may get some intefarance with onboard mobo sound especially ****** realtek, try getting a cheap sound card like Asus Xonar DG you can get for less then 20 quid i would say thats your next best option to try.

No I don't have any other speakers :/ It seems to have stopped itself. Not sure why. I haven't messed with the wires or updated my computer.

Maybe it didn't like my music
