Right the car is now revving itself up to 2000rpm and holding it there, when I go to accelerate I hear what I think is boost very loudly.

Another thing is it drives itself.... With it in gear and attempting to slow down it instead stays at 2-3k rpm driving at a consistent speed.

All I can think off it the turbo has had it.

As JE has put, id be checking all of the pipework to and from the turbo.

Fingers crossed its not FUBAR

Do they have an Air Flow Meter on them? had this problem a while back on my old corsa, wasn't a turbo though, used to hold revs at 2k and would play up while driving

First time my first car did that ads (an old fiesta) I was sat at some traffic lights, in front of a bus stop, and it decided to just start bouncing off the redline.

The Corsa had a mind of it's own, wanted to hit limiter or sit at 2k unless you wanted to accelerate then it wanted to carry on to limiter for you was annoying

Exactly this happened at a set of lights then someone pulled beside me and floored it soon as it went green.

Then at lights in town on the way home opposite a police car who flashed me and shook their heads.

Nothing but trouble with this car lately :(. It's going to be off the road til next Friday as that's when I get paid to get it fixed and looked at, best just be a split hose anyway!

Mine did something very similar. From my experience either something blocking the throttle body or water in the throttle-body.

I don't know anything about split hoses.

it wouldn't be your turbo if your turbo was gone it wouldn't want to make boost. my car since iv done the fmic it makes a high pitched noise on hard accleration found out that it was a boost pipe leaking hardly any air. my bet is the boost pipe or bov

Mine does a serious sucking sound on any boost, only developed today on the drive home after giving it some.

May have to book it into a garage as I don't have enough room in my garage to work on anything in there on axle stands otherwise the front bumper will be off checking everything :(, need some 4 new tyres too!

I can't see the pay from my new job this month lasting long at all....

Wastegate wouldn't cause the car to rev up.

If it's stuck shut it will allow for additional boost, if it's stuck open there will be no boost.

Just thought as he said about loads of boost noise...

Best not be expensive to replace! Car may be going sooner than expected... Wednesday or Thursday if something goes through ;)

What I'm going to do is remove and refit the visible piping this morning, check them and place them back on but not do up the clamps too tight, as admittedly I did do them very tight if that makes a difference.

If that doesn't work I may be able to use a friends garage and put it on a ramp and bumper off job.

It's not flashed back no and the exhaust and injectors are the only things on.
