I lowered my car recently and when i took my top mounts off i noticed they were ****** lol, so i want to get some new uprated ones.
which ones do you guys recomend? I was looking on kamracing and they are £185-£210. Quite a bit more than i was expecting to pay. Is it worth it to pay that? or should i just buy standard ones off ebay for £40?

Replace them with oem ones, unless you want camber for looks or if youre going to track it get those AST ones, otherwise the ride will be crashy as ****. I bought some solid ones before and sent them back lol

I second JE_GT's comments.
Replaced worn top mounts on my old V6 with uprated ones and " crashy as f**k " is an understatement !
Replace with oem is my advice.

Yeah solid top mounts are bloody expensive considering there's not alot to them, I was quite disappointed when mine arrived, thought they would be a bit flashier. Probably one of the reasons for sending them back lol

i had k-tec solid top mounts on my old 172 and they were awesome, the steering feel and responce was massively massively improved, i was running bilstein B14 coilovers at the time so cant comment on them with standard dampers

Bear in mind when going for Solid top mounts compared to your OEM top mounts, that the ride is much more harsher if you are using everyday i would seriously consider going for another set of OEM ones.

I have the BC Racing solid camber top mounts aswell as coil-overs, and the difference between using the OEM and Solid is huge. On the other hand though they are great , alot more feel through the wheel, along with that you feel you can take more speed into corners as it feels more planted.

i do use my car as a daily and i plan on getting coilies in the future. Is the harsh ride worth it? the roads around my area have pot holes EVERYWHERE. but i care more about my cars handling than the health of my spine XD

personally id do it if you are a keen driver, they make the car feel much better and are no where near as harsh as people make out although ive had some pretty harsh cars so maby my idea is different from theirs! The standard ones dont absorb that much!!

Would these be a suitable replacement with coilovers? Cheaper than ktecs, if you wanted solid mounts

Is anyone think it's possible to make a mix of a rubber top mount and hard top mount
like adding a rubber under the hard to mount

to have something more rigid than standar but more verstil than full hard

I can't see why that wouldn't work, might be a good compromise. Personally I would get the solid top mounts though.
