I have a double garage so the Twingo is going in my garage to be modified to the point it is no longer an everyday kind of car, more of a track car to go alongside my drift car [watch this space for new engine and brake mods ] so I will be buying another car. Just after some ideas, new or old I dont mind. My new job may involve some travel so will need to be economical and cheap to tax/insure/run. Really not bothered about speed, more comfort and mpg. So, suggestions? Ill start the ball rolling with a Bluemotion Polo

Good shout, Clio 2 diesels are dirt cheap! Any known problems?

Ill see if I can find one that hasnt done enough miles to go around the world 5 times lol

how about a lovely little clio rsi
very comfy and cheap

Does look like cracking car that, cant believe its not gone

Hahaha at weebob avatar! Never noticed that before! A city/supermini diesel is probably going to be the best choice

Hate myself for suggesting this, but how about a smart dci. (According to the website) 85mpg wherever you're driving. Never been in one - so dont know about long range comfort, but that's got to be cheap to run.

pity there's not a twingo diesel to suggest. Think there's some volvo c30's and fiat 500's which are supposed to be pretty good on the old mpg. Though tbh my old clio 3 used to get pretty good mpg and was very cheap to tax/insure

Hmm not sure about the smart, im over 6 foot and 14 stone so not the smallest chap lol

1.9D mk1 Cilo? dirt cheap and cost nothing to run.

how much you looking on spending?

Hmm - not sure about the original Clio. A 2001 Focus tdci is top of the suggestions ive had so far

Cracking cars, cracking chassis.

Yeh ive driven an RS and ST170 and they were fun. Obviously a diesel wont be that much of a riot but its a work mule, as long as it does 70 and im comfortable I couldnt give a **** what it is! Pritchp is gonna love that avatar btw!

How about something like a saab 9-3 saloon or skoda octavia? Can get both in diesel format and I can vouch that they can soak up hundreds of miles at a time very comfortably, and go on and on to the relms of 200K miles without too many problems
