Newbie advice

Hi Im Rob and Im a newbie.

Im off to test drive a 133 tomorrow. Long story short I've always had fast motors like type r's etc but I've been sensible for a few years as I've been saving for a house.

House bought Im ready for a decent motor again. Can anyone advise on anything to look for when I go to see it?

I did want a clio 200 but I've heard shocking things about mpg! Any.advice on what to check out and expected.mpg would be much appreciated.

From what I read a lot of people get quite good mpg readings when not pushing the 133, just steady normal driving, I cant comment day to day cos I have a 1.2; my mum has a RS 250 megane and even when she pushes it a little during normal drives manages about 31-34 mpg a little more on the motorway got 44 mpg when we went silverstone doing 65-70mph etc. so can't imagine the Clio 200 being too bad being a smaller lighter car, the 133's are brilliant though hope u enjoy ur test drive

Obviously MPG depends on how heavy your foot is and how you drive

Theres not really any common faults, except rattles. but there are numerous faults that have appeared on a few motors, just like any other make/model

Check the alloys for curb damage as the cup alloys (if your getting 17's) are easily curbed

Its just a cup so no mod cons. Looks so nice in red though with decals. Nearly sex weed when i got close up! Looks so fat and beefy from behind. Bloody quick too and i didn't cane it. Pics don't do it justice! Also says no service book so will have to buy one. Has the service on paper though so no probs

I have test drove more cars than most people have had hot dinners! taken out vxrs, 197's etc and having owned a ctr i know what is good in a car.
There is.something about the rs though. I saw a ctr today and it looked so nice. I then looked at a 197 and corsa vxr at same place thinking yeah these looks nice. I then saw the rs and honestly I was like 'fcuk me this is really really nice!' such a good looking car and shows intent. Sure it may not be as quick as a ctr or vxr but i bet the little sod makes me smile! Hopefully won't get modding bug like i did with civic!

If it's a 2010 mate then it needs servicing every 2 years or 12,000 miles

The service history is in the back few pages of the owners manual, not a seperate book like some other makers.
