I picked up my 59 plate twingo sport 133 from Renault on friday and have found 2 issues with it:

1. The oil and water light has been coming on and off but very dim, only really noticeable at night.. My boyfriend checked the oil and water and it is fine?

2. There is a weird tiny tapping noise coming from the front only really when I put my foot down and it feels a bit sluggish for a 1.6.. I got him to have a listen and seems to think it may be an exhaust leek in the manifold?

As I'm new to this car I would really appreciate people's thoughts on this. I'm going to take it back to Renault but I'm not 100% with their fault finding!

Opinions more than welcome!

Manifold leak would be rather loud, the k4m lumps are very tapety i found. My friends sounds like the tapets want to jump out the bloody thing. Lights I have no idea about.

As you only picked it up a few days ago take it back. Still within right to.

And it's Renault sport twingo ;-p

Welcome :)

There was a similar dash fault recently with glowing lights and the unit was replaced. Mine has a couple of lights on, but so feint they are only visible in pitch dark if you realy look.

The engines aren't particularly quiet, but if its guttless and noisy, get them to check the dephaser pulley for wear and correct operation.

Thanks for the replies :) it just worries me because the dealer so far have caused me a few problems already by messing up the finance and now this! I just don't want to take it back and for them just to say its normal when I know it's not

I'm well within my rights aren't I? Seeing as I've only had it 2 minutes!

I've been trying to search on here for people that may have had the same problems but can't seem to find much.

Thanks for your responses tho peeps ;) xx

Well within your rights. It you have problems with your local dealer then call RUK. They are brilliant and 9/10 get it sorted etc.

Welcome along :)

I don't have anything to add I think these two got it covered :) hopefully you'll get it sorted with no dramas
