Would it be ok to fit 8.5 x 17 wheels on a GT, don't fancy the idea of spacers, currently have 7 x 17 and not happyish.

seen a mk7 fiesta with 8.5 x17 dare wheels on, nice.

well calculate the offset. you could be poking out as much as 70mm over the original GT wheels, and as much as 20-30 mm less inner clearance on the inner arch. personally i'd avoid that like the plague, but i suppose you can calculate it for yourself if you know the offset of your current wheels and the new wheels ..
