Spotted this little fella whilst coming home this evening. There were three of them, but two scarpered

Prety sure its a Pine Marten

Could be as you're at the right end of the country for them, but looks a little small - though there's little to take as a reference for size. Could be a weasel or Stoat (which has a black tip on its tail) maybe?

Watching the clip back, on the TV, I'm definately thinking it's a pine martin. As we also have stoats about and this was certainly different. Pacing out the width of the road, the tarmac is about 16 foot across

They grow to a decent size and reading up, it sounds like they have recolonized the Moray area. Having seen three of them, crossing the road, I suspect that this one is a youngster from this year.


I went for a walk last night, past the area and theres lots of pathways through the grass verges. I realy hope I don't see one splatted :cry:
 
Aw that is CUTE!!

An hope you can get the camera out and snap a few pictures of them on your travels
 
They're cute if they're in the woods. But at my work they've eaten the insides of a couple of Toyota & Lexus cars.
