I have a confession to make. I made an awful mistake and believed that all twingo drivers shared a common bond. I found this mistake to be true when I spotted a driver in farnborough in a spectacular looking silver stone twingo sport.

I waved to get attention (from my lovely twingo I might add) to no avail. I beeped my horn, but I think he thought I was asking him to move, or I was nuts.

So I got one of my 133.net cards and thought I'd say hi. At which point he started to drive off.

I felt a little sad and perhaps a little like some crazy stalker and gave in. Now believing that not all of us care about a shared make of car. And went into my friends flat to pick them up.

We left later and to my surprise and delight (I am aware of how utterly nuts I sound) as I was pulling out the same silver twingo was also on the road. Also flashing his lights at me. So I waved back

Only to realise that he was actually signalling for me to go and in fact there was still no twingo team bond.

If that person is on this forum I apologise for my enthusiasm and your car looks ace.

If that person isn't on this forum I'll happily tell the rest of you peeps just how odd and crazy this whole spotting event made me feel.

Aww bless you! I hate people who dont get it!! lol
Especially with the rarer models, like the silverstones and gordini's, you would expect someone with a car like that to know what kind of car they have got and appreciate others like them. Oh well :(

Rather than wave, flash and beep at people just follow them and if you get a chance pull up along side and say "fancy pulling over for a quick chat as I like your car"
Seems too work for me and don't think I've scared anyone whereas beeping and waving may make people think they've annoyed you somehow and your aggressive.

Oh nothing aggressive about my approach, but I can see how good intentions can be misread.
I dont! Think people are just stupid ;) you obviously have the same type of car!

Oh no! That makes me sad :( I too get excited when seeing another Renaultsport out and about. Although I am yet to see another Twingo out and about, I do get a lot of waves and flashes from others - Clios and Meganes :)

There is a red Clio 200 that I cross paths with most days on the commute to work and he always has a little wave at me!

Chicken you can't do that in London there think your trying to jack there car off them

We went to Wales once in my partners Clio197, and we were all in the valleys and hadn't seen a car for a good 45 mins, then a champagne Clio 197 was driving towrds us. We were flashing the lights, tooting the horn and waving, and this bloke had no idea what was wrong with us! Hahaha!

Well that's city folk for you.....

I always try to acknowledge another Twingo RS, but unless it's a 'dini they can be a bit hard to spot from a distance.

If I'm in the Avantime and come across another one.. well, the protocol is you pull over for a chat.

I would say anyone being followed then told to pull over for a chat cos they have a nice car should drive away, probably to a police station, before pulling over. Sounds like a car jacking no matter what your intentions actually are!

maybe it wasn't the owner but a friend of his and didn't know what beast he was riding in :D

Well I've done it on a few occasions as well as James. We've even managed to get people too pull over whilst out for a drive and spot them. Even signed up on here

I would never pull over if someone did this to me, screams car jacking instead I'd floor it away from them fearing for my car
