Tomorrow I'm giving my granddads car a proper clean for once but I noticed a few issues on the car

What can I do to sort this out?

If it helps (doubt it) this is the car

The second picture looks like moisture to me. I assume that this part has been resprayed at some point in it's life, and the surface prep was poor.

Nope it's not moisture it's hard but not under the paint but it might be whats left of the clearcoat :? . The cars only done 3000 miles since new due to my granddad not being able to drive it anymore. Never had anything done to it.

Moisture during the painting process and poor prep would absolutely leave them issues. I didn't say it was still moisture.

Ahh ok I get what you mean. So some light sanding with high grit wet and dry would be in order then

I'm not sure that's gonna resolve it. The paint has cracked and flaked in areas I can see.

Is this an aluminium version? I can't recall, but the grill says to me yes. I'm not sure if there were issues with paint when they changed over, is it isolated to that wing?

Quote from Karen. Ive seen better paint jobs on a banger.

As its reacted and also chipped badly, I'd be very careful trying any rectification incase you get any patches that flake off from being poorly bonded to the body/under coat. If its started in the base or metalic layer, you won't be able to polish/sand it out if its got a clear coat

All I know about the car is that it was the top model when new. I'll just give the car clean, polish and wax and hopefully it will make some if it better...

That panel close up doesn't look like it has much/any clear coat left as it doesn't give the same effect as all the other panels

My dad had an XJ8 (52 plate) brand new and the paintwork was shiite.
It was Silver though and he asked me my opinion on it after only a few months.

I told him to take it back to jaguar and they replaced both front and rear driver side doors.

That was the aluminium bodied version.

This looks really bad, like a poor respray due to damage prior to sale which is quite frequent to be fair.

Is that an XJR 4.2supercharged?
My dads old business partner still has one same colour.

Awesomely fast car
