Stumbled on some alloys on ebay last night and sadly decided against spending a load on 2118s and tyres.

I need to arranged a courier for the 4 x wheels and tyres.
Paisley freight seems to get mentioned a lot over on cliosport, but I'm just wondering if anyone on here can recommend a courier based on their experiences with whichever company.

Cheers

You bother with the extra charge for insurance? Looking like I'll use them

Not sure if I can help as I used parcel force for my exhaust I shipped and paid the insurance, its extra peace of mine because you then know of they get damaged or lost in transit you can get your money back.

Plus I didn't want to risk it getting lost and repaying him the money so I not only lost out on £200 but don't even have the exhaust.

Better safe than sorry with items of a high value eh?

I've just booked, gone with Paisley Freight, with insurance total was around £42 which isn't bad. All the other websites want dimensions and weights

Dimensions and weights wouldn't be too hard to give. They don't have to be exact. 17" wheels will be 43cm x 43cm x 20cm (8 inch wide) and weigh about 9kgs each.

I use P4DU, which is part of Parcelmachine.co.uk They sub the job out to the bigger companies and pass on some of their discount. I've yet to have a problem.

But these are wheels + tyres.

I went on parcelmachine lastnight and by sending them as 4 individual prices + insurance, ups, parcel force, city link all were around the same price as what I paid with Paisley. I would have gone with ups if i hadn't already paid. I've saved the website for next time anyway thanks!

Sorry, I missed the tyres bit in your first post.

They are the same price though, as I sent a wheel and tyre to another Wind owner, last week.

BTW, if you band them in pairs (tie them together withs strong cord works) and double up on the dimensions, it costs less. :)

I recently sent a set of 14" alloys with tyres for £30 booked with Paisley Freight who sent TNT to pick them up.

Didn't pay the extra for insurance as they provide £X per KG as standard which covered it.

Terms state that each wheel has to be packaged individually too which wasn't a problem just took AGES to do lol. I guess this is so they can move them around on the vans to gain more room for certain things, plus it won't be one huge heavy package but four easier to carry packages.

I have no idea who delivered my wheels today. But it was on a single pallet as 1 parcel. And they parked down the drive and brought them up on a pallet truck. Then left them in a stupid place, as I couldn't get a car to them, and they were on a pallet I clearly couldn't lift so had to wheel each wheel individually to the car.

If I find out who they were, I will refuse to use them in the future
