Anybody else seen the petrol news in the budget.

Petrol wil be 1p/l cheaper as of 6pm this eve.

fuel duty rise & future escalators scrapped.

When oil prices are high, oil companies pay more tax (as their profits are predicted from lower oil prices), and when oil prices are low, we pay a bit more on the low price.

Hopefully will have a good effect.

1p per l. Will not make a shed of differnece

It's much better than the previous plan of it going up 5p/l

The 1p per litre drop isn't great but when you consider it was due to go up next month and this being scrapped alongside the drop makes it worth while.

It's strange how people complain all day long about prices going up but when they start coming back down the oposite doesn't happen - people still complain.

this is why i took today off work, cos being in the office when the budget is on is boring  and now it's on here too!

at the end of the day, in the evenings and at weekends the roads seem to be empty atm becuase noone seems to be driving anywhere, cos noone can afford to. 1p to most families won't make a difference, it's only going to really help businesses, which is what it's designed to do

that means when if i ever have to visit that small north wales petrol station again, it'll be 1.50 for oct95 and not 1.51. lol

Wooo a saving of 40p per tank!!

Although if taking the "silver lining" route, it's £2.40 per tank better than it would have been in a couple of weeks time
