Has anyone got a copy of a recentish version of photoshop for the Mac? Or does anyone know where I can get hold of one? :D
Beer tokens on offer...

I downloaded cs5.5 master edition when I got my mac, it has everything :)

Look on the adobe website and don't be so cheap ;)

That or get the new version of elements, 9 I think it's on now, has most things full PS has for waaaay less than the full version.

Yeah I would recommend the adobe site, you never know what your downloading otherwise..

Haaa! I know I'm being cheap but......

I've already got photoshop on my iMac, had it for years, borrowed the CD's off a mate back at Uni, he's since lost the CD's.
I'm off to work out to Australia in October for 3 months so I'm buying a laptop to use out there.

I've got a photo editing website (www.fotoflatter.co.uk if you're interested) which I run from my iMac. So I plan to use a laptop for work out there but also to edit any photo orders I get.
So I really don't fancy splashing out £600 for some software that I'll only need for 3 months and especially after I've just forked out a bag for a new laptop.... ;)

No, I learnt the mistake from using torrent sites when we got a court order for illegally file sharing... Ooops!

So you run a photo editing business, yet haven't previously and won't pay for the software your using / want to use

I bet you expect your clients to pay for your work, much like the Adobe developers expect users to pay for their work

I wouldn't really call it a business, more like a hobby. Only been doing it for a year or so and have barley made £100 form it!
I got my copy of photoshop about 5 years ago when I was doing photography at Uni from a mate. You couldn't really expect me to pay £600 when I was a student could you? I've been happily using that up until now when I just need it on another computer for 3 months when I'm out of the country. Not too much to ask is it?

As a student, you wouldn't have paid the full price anyway. Students get a huge discount on Adobe products, including CS... Well, the ones who actualy pay for it do :)

I suppose if your hobby takes off into a profitable business, you would refund Adobe for their borrowed software. Ok, I guess not :(

Choice is a beautiful thing and out of choice breeds consequence.

One way you are legal, get support from the developers if you have problems etc etc, but your pocket is £400/£500 lighter.

The other way you are breaking the law, get no support, will burn in hell, all your first born will be ginger, but you will have the £400/£500 still in your pocket.

Choice is yours, and its not for me to care about which route you take completely up to you.

Actually Adobe is having a sale and it's under £400 now and elements is much improved over recent versions, I don't run 9 I've got 8 on my MacBook

Dammit! Didn't know that at the time. Then again I probably would have done the same

I know where you're coming from mate. It's not very decent of me to pinch it but I'm not a very decent person

If fotoflatter was a big fat cash cow then I'd go down all the proper routes to buying sofware and feel good about it. But...considering the average order cost a client £5, I'd have to save up for a long time to afford it.

Off topic, if it's being run as a business, you could write off the expence against any profit, likewise the laptop :)

Although, your prices are rather cheap for the restoration fixes, which can quite easily consume time at an alarming rate to do a decent job where a simple clone isn't enough
