I'm looking to get the RS badges on the front and rear of the car and also both Renault emblems coated black. I've seen on YouTube people using PlastiDip to coat parts of their cars. Looks quite good and was wandering if anyone has used it before?

Won't be a gloss finish in case you weren't aware. Although I'm sure you are

Will it come off easily? Might still give it a try. I've watched a couple of video clips on YouTube and some people make it look really smart. Is it matt black or gloss?

Matte finish. They do a gloss overcoat but it will never be perfect

It's really easy to take off and it's matte unless you buy the glossifier but it's a textured finish and tricky to do perfectly.

Bloody expensive too! I'm getting the front wrapped in matte carbon instead of plasti dip next

My last Twingo I had the badges just sprayed white by my local paintshop but after about 6 months the front one started to flake off. Any way I could make the paint last?

A good amount of prep work helps paint stick better, and some nice lacquer to increase the durability of the top coat

Doesn't that defeat the point of plastidip..? Or did I misunderstand it's use?

I thought it was so it could be peeled off after as it's a temporary coat, and adding lacquer sorta makes it more permanent

I've not done it before but I have been reading up on it this last couple of weeks and it looks pretty fool proof! (which is ideal for me haha)

I'm hoping to Plastidip the wheels on my 172 matt black, see how that goes and considered my roof. It seems it'll peel off if you want to remove it. I just need to try a bit of practice.

As for the matt/gloss finish, they do a spray to go over the top that still allows the paint to peel off should you wish to remove it.

I'm tempted to try doing some. Seen a whole new fiesta done in green and the finish looks really good.

In thr flesh? Or pictures chicken?

I thought it looked good but it's not a great finish that I'd be happy with for a whole panel personally

In the flesh yes, it was done by zap wrap. Pop there name into google and you'll find the site and you can see it on there.

Fair enough.

Never seen lne done by a company, can't see how it would be more cost effective than a wrap for a whole car

Yeah it frequents MK alot the fiesta and looks alright!! Wanna see it in the day light to see the pure finish

Funny you mention this. I have BR-Performance on FB and they recently posted pictures of doing plastidip on a white Mitsubishi Outlander.

The whole car in plastidip. I'll try to post pictures later (can't do this at work right now)
