Hey people.
I realise this has been covered before but my Twingo doesn't idle very well when started cold, especially now the weather is warmer.
When you start it the revs go just over 1000rpm which I think is normal but then of its own accord it revs up to 2000rpm then goes back again and if you drive it it kangeroos.

I took it to Renault in Tonbridge Wells to try to get them to do the Actis solution I have read about on here but typically they put it on the computer and no fault codes came up so Renault told me they wouldn't do the software update as Renault require specific fault codes to be present in order to authorise the update.
If I could manage to get the update done does anyone think this would cure all of my issues?
I have read also that this engine is not great when cold but the weird thing seems to be that it's worse now it's hotter than back in February but still only when it's not been used for several hours at least.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers.
Rob.

Could have a faulty sensor that's makin it rev so high. Has the car reved like that while at Reno?

They seemed to be making a real fuss about how strict Renault are about authorising updates, said if they were to do it without authorisation they would have franchise taken!

Guy really got on my nerves to be honest but I am quite limited to Renault dealers I can take it.
Car didn't rev when they had it just not sure where to go with it now. If an after market remap would solve It or not?
It's
Weird because you only have to drive the car down the road and it will then be fine or if you let it idle for a few
Mins before driving away.

sounds exactly the same as mine was. Was loads better after Renault did the ecu update.

If you willing to fork out of a remap, they should be able to sort it. Where abouts are you from?

I'm in Kent, about half an hour from Tonbridge Wells. Is there anyone who remaps 133 around these parts?

I'm taking it to a Tates dealership (Tates group is where I bought it from so under warranty with them) next Wednesday and leaving it with them until they can replicate fault/ fix it.
I have mentioned the actis solution to them and they say they need to replicate fault in order to know what's going on (fair enough) but if there are no fault codes but is obviously not right they will perform any updates required so fingers crossed they will sort it.
