so it's well known that i've been on the lookout for years for an aftermarket rear spoiler for the twingo. it is offcourse for looks over function, and i have never been a fan of the cup spoiler and for those of you who know me you will know that i like to break the mould. i've come to a conclusion that this will be the spoiler for me (obviously not in carbon, they come in fibre glass versions) which can be adapted slightly by the bodyshop in my work so that the curves and whatnot will match up to the curvature of the top of the boot lid on the twingo. this is a honda jazz mugen rear spoiler. the fibre glass version will be 135 pounds delivered and dependant on the length etc, it may need cut in the middle and extended which is easy enough to do for a body shop. offcourse the end fins will need to be shaped to fit the curvature of the twingo, and will cover the existing twingo bolt holes which will be ideally filled and painted.

now, time for some oppinions. it will be fibre glass and painted gloss black.

I want that! Has anyone tried the Clio 197/200 spoiler?

Think someone's measured it and it's a couple of inches too long

you're right luke, it was just a little bit too big and the usual problems arose of the curvature and shape of it. it just wouldn't work, it's really been the thorn in my side in terms of the long search for a good base of which to modify from. the first requirement is something from any car that would curve downwards slightly instead of being flat / curving upwards from the car. with a twingo it really is a labour of love, but it's one i'm more than happy to take

Check out the ones from the Elia kit I swear they had a rounded spoiler

not my cup of tea luke, i'd hardly call that a spoiler in fairness. looks like it's been taken from a bottom of the range mums / grans sort of car. i suppose my idea will only appeal to those 133 owners who have track / build plans for their cars or have it lowered and want that meaner look. the mugen spoiler wouldn't look right on any twingo unless the car itself was modified to match that higher aggression :)

There's not many cars with a similar rear end as the twingo, only thing I can think of is the colt

lets see how this honda mugen spoilers goes. i've still to get a spare ten minutes in work to get the car on the ramp so that i can get snapshots of the williams discs / pads from my last ''modification adventure''

I'm getting tempted to go crazy and pay the twingo off and part ex it for an impretza now I have a more stable job I bet the insurance would put an end to that idea though

what MY are you thinking of luke? i had an MY04 wrx import as my first car and she was thirsty on fuel and even more thirsty on parts and servicing. for me though, the twingo is a keeper which is why i don't mind going to town on it over the years. the boxer engine is certainly something to idolise

No idea I like most the models but more the old ones, I always thought the engines were good considering the Mileage people get out of them

This is the first one I saw don't like the eyes though

80k miles or so and they are notorious for throwing their big ends. if you have a spare 2 grand in labour fees alone before parts then go ahead. it's the reason why an old evo of the same age will command a noticeably higher value than the subaru will, as it is a lot more reliable engine wise :) you'd be cheaper to plant a newer engine in than rebuild one as most owners have done.

but back on track (message me luke, i'm always down for a jap chat luke!)
can any of you lovely people think of cars that are of a similar boxy rear end as the twingo? in the sense that the c2 is of roughly the same shape. there may be a car somewhere with tunning credentials that i have completely overlooked

Yeah height would be the issue, similar to why a 197 spoiler may not suit the car. Twingo is a weird car for spoiler choice though.
