Just get a decent GPS with the hazard locations programed in
without GPS locations, just working as a detector:-
As a laser detector, is trying to detect something which isn't there untill the trigger is pulled and, the beam width is well directed with minimal spread or scatter, the chances of an early warning are slim. Getting a warning through the car infront isn't a certainty and if the officer uses the first reading from your car, your getting nicked anyway.
K / Ka band used to be a pain in the arse, as anywhere with an automatic door opener would trigger it.
Fixed gatso sites give such a short warning that you will probably see it alongside you when the warning goes... A bit late to react.
VASCAR (Man with a stopwatch). no warning.
Induction loop/pressure loop cameras. No warning.
Average speed sites use number plate recognition, then a simple time/distance calculation. So, not much a detector could do, whereas a GPS with current speed readout may help.
Detectors are ilegal in France and will be fined/confiscated etc. May or may not happen here
