Hey guys silly but important question

The twingo is the newest car I've owned and as its under 3 yo how do I find out when mot is due? Am I right in saying it's from when it's first registered? Thanks.

It will be due 3 years on the date of registration mate. You can get it mot'd within one month early eg. My old new car was registered on 31st December 2009 first mot due 31st december 2012 but could get it first mot from the 1st December 2012. Hope this makes sense

Ah cool so its registered 16/6/10 so mot is 16/6/13 or 16/5/13 onwards. Cool thanks buddy was in a panic as thought it was due end of month!

I thake it that the rule of u can only mot it a month before only apply to the cars first mot? Just as I go away to sea for 3-4 month periods and mot'd my previous cars when I needed (ie I'm away for 4 months and they had say 3 months left on mot when I got them done) or has rules changed? Sorry for all questions I just like to keep unto date with all this kind of stuff so I can stay 100% legal

Thanks :)

Yes you are right on the first part but no to the second....you can MOT your car up to a month early every year, its to allow people time to get it done and if you do get it done within that month early period it preserves the anniversary date ie/eg. if due on 31st of said month and you get it done on the 1st then next year it will still run out on the 31st. Hope that made sense :-/ (it does in my head lol)

If you do get it done say 3 months early then it will then change your 'anniversary date' then the following year it will need doing within one month early of the new date. This isn't a problem it just changes your MOT due date the following year....I do hope I'm making sense lmao
