Door trim ? mine seemed loose a while back just took it off and re fitted it and seems sorted

Hmmm door trim inside I assume how do you remove and refit ? Is it just a couple of screws or maybe I should just try to tighten all the screws on the panel ...

I thought it may be the sill extension at the weekend ... I must look like a mad man as I am tapping the front bumper and the panels and the doors to see if anything seems or sounds loose ....

Try tighting them but dont know it that will work. To remove the trim its a few screws the pull the bottom out and push up i would also undo the window first aswell.

I think the rattle is coming from the back of the car now ... rear passenger side .... but sounds like it may be suspension or something .......... ???

Hmmm not trying to make anyone sound stupid but could it be bits in the boot or something have have got under the rear seat?

I've noticed the passenger seatbelt hits the trim when it's not in use sometimes.. Doesn't sound like it would be a seatbelt so worth looking at.

Ive noticed that aswell matt reason to always where your seatblet and always plug the rest in

Nah its not stuff in the boot and its not seatbelt ...

This may sound stupid but if tap the outside of the car (rear quarter) below the rubbbing strip sounds like something inside that part of the bodywork is loose .... and same sort of think if I tap trim inside too

So I think it may be that ....

Problem is don'treally want dealer ripping inside of car apart ... whats inside there though ??

I definitely now think the rattle is from inside the rear quarter panel where the speaker grill is in the rear or just below. Sounds weird but tapping the bodywork outside in this area causes a lot of rattling inside the bodywork so I don't know what it is but def sounds something loose ...

Problem is taking my nice Gordini into Reanult for them to rip out the trim and dig around and put back in is not a good prospect ... does anyone know is this easy to take out yourself and put back ???

It really easy to remove the trim.

Fold you seat down. Then there are 2 T25s on the part the parcel shelf rest on. Then from memory 2 T25s near the front door. then just pull on the trim and the clips will release may feel a little had and fell like they might break but mine never when i took it apart. They you woll have the trim out and can have a look.

Hope this helps if you need anymore help let me know.

Thanks .... any pics of the inside etc ? where are the clips so I know where to ease them out

Do you rememember whats inside can you see right through to the outside skin then ? I don't want to take off if there is nothing there other than the speaker housing inside as I can't see that its this but I might look just incase .... just I can't see anything from the outside that could be rattling I don't think there is anything else underneath

I havent got any pictures :( i done it about year and a bit ago. Its not hard though.

Also when you have it off you will see the speaker and the frame of the bodywork and theres a few holes that you can fit you hand though to touch the outer skin of the car.

Ok thanks I think I'll try and see what I cna do myself before taking it in to Renault .... the car is only 2 months old but I know I'll be more careful than the mechanics (ie regarding my nice leather seats etc !)

Cant comment all dealers are different. Working in a dealer i trust my guys with my car and may other RS owners trust us aswell but not all dealers are the same

Well I had a look at the weekend .. trim came out really easily but I couldn't find anything in there that was suspect. Coupld of wires resting on outside of car I moved away and funny little box (like a transformer bolted into the side of the car that again I moved away slightly from outside of car. Put it all back together and got the same rattle.

Thought I would move the seats to see if that is the issue folded up and put some silicon spare on all the runners and the springs and relocated. Unfortunately I still have the same rattle.

On normal driving I have nothing at all ,even over speed bumps etc nothing. Its when I hit small ridges and sends a jarring through the car, thats when it sounds loose somewhere but I can't workout where ... I had a look underneath car but nothing looks loose ...

any other suggestions ??

Erm its hard i would say suspension maybe its not somethink stupid like something withing the spare wheel ?

Nah I had a look at the spare wheel and tightened that up too and the tools inside it too ... I suppose I could take out drive round the block to see if that resolves it ..... thanks for the suggestion though.

Yes I think maybe suspension .... what about brakes or something could anything to do with handbrake rattle like that when its not on ?
