I think in terms of popular music, a big part of todays pop music is insultingly simple. When you consider this back in the day was 'pop' music -

Other genres of music on the other hand are I'm sure still as good. For example, I'm a big rock and metal fan. Some of the bands that have come about in the last 10 years or so are awesome.
