Can anyone advise the best way to remove the stripes from the boot, roof and bonnet? They are starting to look old and tatty and I want them to go!

Mark

Little heat and patience. Remove residue with some glue/tar remover like tardis and done.

Cheers, i'll crack on with it tomorrow afternoon. Whats the paintwork likely to be like under the stripes once they are off?

If anything like my b pillar stickers were, perfectly clean as if it came straight out the factory lol, the only residue was around the edges of the sticker.

Good good. Think the car will look quite different without them. The car will just have the one lonely club sticker :)

paintwork under mine was clean as a whistle, just lines of scum along the side of the stripes and clumps of glue about

Guess it depends how long they've been there, I'd use a hairdryer and as someone said above, patience! WD40 would be good for getting rid of any residue also, doesn't harm the paintwork either.

Defo use a hairdryer or a heat gun and peal them slowly, shouldn't leave too much residue underneath if you take your time and get them warm enough :)

Might struggle using a hairdryer in the rain
wd40? so best way is to heat using a hairdryer and gradually work my way across the car doing so. Then any residue left use some wd40? :)

could use some debugger on the residue. i did that when i de-badged my old car and it worked perfect.

when i done my chequred flags on the door i was worried with the car being red it would have faded but had no issues at all with colour.

the warmer you get them the less residue you will leave behind, when i done one door i took my time and got the stickers warm and was left with no residue at all, the other door i had to rush as it was getting late and the hair dryer was making noise and i ended up with quite a bit of residue.

clay bar removed it in no time though and then a quick polish just to make sure there was no marks left and it was perfect :)

My car was almost 2 years old by the time I removed its stripes.

Had someone remove them with a heat gun and then polish the car.

Absolutely no sign of them, no fading whatsoever.
