Hey guys, just trying to fit the plates i got from fcs, but i cant get the originals off, they seem to be held on by some weird screw, iv tried a load of allon keys etc but no luck yet, any ideas? Cheers

Are they anti turn security screws? Or richbrook security screws? (Google the last ones for a picture)

Last time I had those and lost the special little key - I ended up snapping the rear plate off (mot failure anyway) and removing the screws with plyers.

well are they star shape (Torx)? star shape with a dot in the middle (security Torx) ?

if you tell us then we can say what you need.

I was going to say drill them off - but I wasn't sure if that would set the aribags off.

but well done :) must have been security screws - may be worth replacing them with similar.

that was my thought - not sure if the boot on a clio has airbag sensors (doubt it) but to be on the safe side, i just pulled the plate like a monkey in a safari park until it snapped off :p

never sure how sensitive these cars are

Would the bags go off if the ignition isn't on though?
Yeah - covers for eventualities like being sat on the hard shoulder and getting hit by something etc.

Not sure if that applys to older cars, but I know it definitely applys to the old shape ford focus - our passenger bag went off when the caravan rolled into it (to be fair it was a hell of a wack)
