Renault Twingo Gordini 1.6 RS 2010 fuel pump not working ??

Can anyone help or give some guidance please .

I have a 2010 Renault Gordini 1.6 that I purchased from a salvage auction.

The airbags, pretentioners and ecu crash data have all been replaced and the dashboard warning lights are all out the ecu reads no crash data, but the car still wont start.

on fault check it is showing a fault in the supply to the fuel pump !

Is there a cut off switch on these ?

If so where ?

Any help or thoughts please ?

the twingo doesn't have an inertia switch, this is triggered by the airbag ECU and will need resetting via CLIP. it uses the impact sensors in the SRS system and cuts off the main engine relay for the fuel pump electronically

Oscar. I don't think CLiP can reset the crash flag on the airbag ECU. Some third party companies can access the data and reset it... Otherwise, I believe its a new airbag ECU if you ask at Renault.

BBA Reman (or something like that) was who I used for an ABS ECU on a Vauxhall and they list loads of electronic brains that they can play with. Need to get busy and do some work, so I'll have a look later.

offcourse neil, the ecu system will need reset after the srs ecu has been replaced as said by the OP. when i refered to the reset, i meant that you will need to reset the inertia bank. there are fault banks under the 'inertia wheel' bank (or something like this)on clip that stores a hidden fault code accessible only by renaults clip diagnostic's. this will need resetting, as it will not allow the fuel pump to electronically prime. accessible through the ECU itself and not the srs module

have you replaced the airbag ecu? this is a must, as neil just mentioned. on renaults there are no two ways about this after a crash, it must be replaced along with the airbags and what have you!

When i was repairing my car it needed the airbag ecu resetting and i purchased the service off ebay and posted it off and it was returned a few days later all sorted.

this is a different problem altogether though alex, some things on renaults you can reset the srs ecu but on an accident where the inertia wheels have been triggered you simply cannot reset as demonstrated here by electronicaly immobilising the engine by not allowing fuel to prime. this is one of those situation where you want an automotive electrician who knows his way around a renault as a mechanic, you can only really go so far with electrical work!

The airbag ECU has previously triggered the airbag/tensioner deployment which will also cut the fuel pump by sending a message to the body control ECU, to open the fuel pump relay...and there's a hard fault code showing, which CLiP doesn't allow to be cleared.

The body control ECU (UCH) needs to see no faults on the system before it will close the relay for the pump to run. a replacement airbag ecu with reprogramming it to the car would be one expensive option or, send off the faulty unit for a reset and being as its already been on the network, it should be good without further programming... This option wasn't available a few years ago.

I have had everything replaced and sent off the ecu to an ebay offer for the reset.
My man with the magic reader said that no faults were showing in the reader and no lights on the dash are on so!!!!! Maybe this deep hidden fault cannot be cleared ? He said it did show a none feed to the fuel pump ? New ecu and a renault reset ???

that would be the best course of action marco. better to do it the legit way so to speak, i'm not sure how much a new ECU goes for as i'm not a parts guy but i'd guess a good couple of hundred ?!?! doesn't have to be a dealership reset, you may be better to find a renault independant specialist close to you that has clip diagnostics and they can reset the new ECU for you a lot cheaper than a renault dealer, but if money isn't a problem then no harm going to renault. it would only be around an hours labour anyway for the cost of reprogramming the ecu. good luck either way and i hope you're back on the road again soon
